Moms make case for gun control

Peg Paulson had never beaten a path through the halls of Congress before or met a U.S. senator's staffer or advocated for a controversial issue.

More guns have made us less safe because many people, like you, are crazy and have no business owning a gun. If you don't have mental issues and you haven't committed a crime, you can have a gun. DUH! If you do have mental problems or a criminal record, you don't get a gun. If you are standing up for the rights of law abiding citizens then a back round check will have no effect on you or them so your argument is stupid and baseless. Apparently there is something in your past that you fear. Not my problem and not Americas problem.
The gun debate will be won by those with clear heads and common sense, something you guns nuts are not in possession of, whatsoever.
That is it ?

Same old crap.

I will give you one challenge.

If you don't think I have any right to own a gun come and try to take it from me.

Talk is cheap.

Now tell me how 250,000,000 guns in
America have made us all safer? How
did they make the 20 babies in Newtown safer?
Death by gun numbers rise every year, zippy,
they don't go down, like your mom.
Nice side step and redirect, but I'll answer that.
250 million guns in America have made us safer by protecting all of our rights and freedoms. Without them, we would be slaves to a dictator by now. They have kept us safer by preventing invasion of the US by Japan in WW2, and who knows how many other countries throughout America's history.

They were not allowed to make the 20 babies in Newtown, the victims in Aurora, the victims of numerous mass shootings in schools, churches, and malls safer, because those locations were GUN FREE ZONES for the law abiding. Obviously the law breakers didn't care that it was against the law to have a gun there.
Sure gun related deaths go up. So does the number of people in the country and the world. Two thirds of gun related deaths are suicide. That has more to do with the state of the country, the government, and the economy than it does with guns. Also, look at gun murders in the US, who commits most of them? Blacks are over represented. How well are the existing gun control measures enforced, in 2010, 15,000 felons and criminals attempted to purchase a gun illegally. How many were prosecuted? 44 were prosecuted out of 15,000. Where does the US rank in number of guns owned, compared to other countries? Where does the US rank in number of gun deaths compared to those countries? Where does the US rank in gun deaths compared to those countries if you subtract the Black influence? Before you accuse me of racism, I can back all of this with FBI statistics on gun crime.
Insulting my mother shows your lack of maturity, lack of substantive input, and lack of ability to debate with facts or truth.

A sure way to tell a liberal is befuddled, is when they play the race card. It's getting closer and closer to being used right out of the gate.
If you can't hang with the big boys, go back to your puppet masters for a tune up on new talking points. At least it will give me some new subject matter to mop the floor with you on.

The racist roots of the democrat party's lust for 'gun control'

"Before the election Governor Scott had organized and armed the colored militia, alleging that it was necessary to protect them against violence. This action was very objectionable to the democratic party...."

"Immediately after this election, outrages commenced against the colored people by the Ku-Klux, and were committed in great numbers, through the winter and spring, in the counties of Spartanburgh, Union, York, Newberry, Chester, and Fairfield...."

"...He speaks of murders committed in York County as communicated to him by his chief; of a raid upon which he went to arrest and murder the county treasurer of York, who escaped from them ; gives the names of chiefs and members in the town of York; describes their disguise; states that it was part of their business to disarm negroes, and that their object was political—" to carry the negro for the democratic party," (pp.1303-1370.)

"...The, organization of what were called "democratic clubs"—secret societies, designed to seize the Government by violence in the event of the assurance of the election of Seymour and Blair--which clubs became afterwards the Ku-Klux of infamous notoriety for blood and cruelty..."

I find it interesting how cons revert to this argument for their case and cause.

And then I laugh when things like Michael Steele is put in charge of the RNC after Obama gets elected.

Funny thing is, now he's persona non grata with the party that he still supports.

It didn't fail because it didn't have the support of Americans, DICK.

It failed because a VERY tiny minority screaming and threatening the tiny-dicked spineless members of the GOP had a forty year head start demanding special rights.

Universal background checks isn't going away.

I don't think it will either.

Those with clear heads and common sense are well aware of how Democrats think. When DumBama got Commie Care passed, part of this monstrosity is that employers had to report to the IRS how much they pay for their employees healthcare. Now we find out that we are going to be taxed on what our employer pays on our behalf. Good bye income tax refund.

Democrats are born liars, so when a Democrat says he or she wants you to report something for X reason, it's not for X reason at all. It's for a more nefarious reason.

Obama is a Communist as many Democrats are. Their main goal is to control people. While they can't do so at the point of a gun........ yet, what they can do is tax you into submission. That's the main key of Commie Care. They can't force you to buy anything, but if you don't, they will take your money away from you. Oh, and did you hear? DumBama wants to increase cigarette taxes AGAIN! Taxing people into submission.

So given DumBama and the Democrats history of trying to control people, it's my guess the reason they really want background checks is to see who owns guns and what kind. If the Democrats would ever regain full power of the government, they will try to tax you into giving up your weapons.

True, not worthless, but it can be worth less. If we ever get a real President and the dollar starts to regain strength, I would get rid of gold in a heartbeat.

Not after what our treasonous government just did around Boston. The government revealed it's treasonous hand. And now people are turned against 'gun control' more than ever. You bozo's shot yourselves in the foot. Just like the Klintoon azzministration did with the 'brady bill' and then Waco.

A Short History of Democrats, Republicans, and Racism

The following are a few basic historical facts that every American should know.

Fact: The Republican Party was founded primarily to oppose slavery, and Republicans eventually abolished slavery. The Democratic Party fought them and tried to maintain and expand slavery.

Why is this indisputable fact so rarely mentioned? PBS documentaries about slavery and the Civil War barely mention it, for example. One can certainly argue that the parties have changed dramatically in 150 years, but that does not change the historical fact that it was the Democrats who supported slavery and the Republicans who opposed it. And that indisputable fact should not be airbrushed out for fear that it will tarnish the modern Democratic Party.

Had the positions of the parties been the opposite, and the Democrats had fought the Republicans to end slavery, the historical party roles would no doubt be repeated incessantly in these documentaries. Funny how that works.

Fact: During the Civil War era, the "Radical Republicans" were given that name because they wanted to not only end slavery but also to endow the freed slaves with full citizenship, equality, and rights.

Yes, that was indeed a radical idea at the time!

Fact: Lincoln's Vice President, Andrew Johnson, was a strongly pro-Union (but also pro-slavery) Democrat who had been chosen as a compromise running mate to attract Democrats. After Lincoln was assassinated, Johnson thwarted Republican efforts in Congress to recognize the civil rights of the freed slaves, and Southern Democrats continued to thwart any such efforts for nearly a century.

Fact: The Ku Klux Klan was originally and primarily an arm of the Southern Democratic Party, and its mission was to terrorize freed slaves and Republicans who sympathized with them.

Why is this fact conveniently omitted in so many popular histories and depictions of the KKK, including PBS documentaries? Had the KKK been founded by Republicans, that fact would no doubt be repeated constantly on those shows.

Fact: In the 1950s, President Eisenhower, a Republican, integrated the US military and promoted civil rights for minorities. Eisenhower pushed through the Civil Rights Act of 1957. One of Eisenhower's primary political opponents on civil rights prior to 1957 was none other than Lyndon Johnson, then the Democratic Senate Majority Leader. LBJ had voted the straight segregationist line until he changed his position and supported the 1957 Act.

Fact: The historic Civil Rights Act of 1964 was supported by a higher percentage of Republicans than Democrats in both houses of Congress. In the House, 80 percent of the Republicans and 63 percent of the Democrats voted in favor. In the Senate, 82 percent of the Republicans and 69 percent of the Democrats voted for it.

Fact: Contrary to popular misconception, the parties never "switched" on racism.

Following the epic civil rights struggles of the 1960s, the South began a major demographic shift from Democratic to Republican
