Bullying a crime? What have we come to? Maybe instead of trying to prevent every possible "bad" thing from happening to our kids, we look to actually TEACH them how to handle the situation. What happens when a kid grows up where no one ever bullied them, and they have to deal with it in the workplace? Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.

How about the biggest bully of all--obama- the way he's tried to bully wall street and the auto industries, the GOP and Fox news. You gonna prosecute him? Get a grip and be responsible for yourselves. My sons did, I did and my family has always taken care of themselves.

I also think that we should not suspend/expell those students who physically fight back against bullies if avoiding/de-escalating is not an option for them.

In this age of "political correctness" we worry so much about the criminals' rights and nothing for the real victim. How did that get so screwed up. Good, old fashion "tar and feathers" might work on bullies. If they still don't get it,-- well -- get a rope (maybe)

When I was in high school in the 1970's we had a kid move into my school district that was a total piece of work. This guy was a bully and thief. One day in class he decided to see how far he could push my good nature... He spit on the back of my neck which I wiped off, he then poked me in the back with a sharp pencil which earned him a trip to the hospital to have his head sewed up from the chair I crowned him with. I was sent to the office and expelled from school. When I got back to school after my expulsion this clown still had stitches in his head but NEVER bothered another kid in that school.

Good deal. Some really need to get taught a lesson.

Absolutely not! Bullying should not be a crime! If a child commits suicide then it's the parents fault or the kid has something wrong with them!

A student should not get suspended if he/she was defending his or herself. And that should also depend if he/she was the aggressor or not or the amount of force used, just like any self-defense situation.
