So why didn't you instead of all this deflection...?
What deflection? I answered your question--it just wasn't what you wanted to hear. So now, you have nothing. Except stammering.

Myth #7: Guns make women safer.
Fact-check: In 2010, nearly 6 times more women were shot by husbands, boyfriends, and ex-partners than murdered by male strangers.
• A woman's chances of being killed by her abuser increase more than 7 times if he has access to a gun. However a that is a lie. Guns make women safer IF the woman is the owner of the gun and not the disarmed victim. Yet another twisting of facts. Myth #9 Oh to hell with it I think I've made my point very well that your site is a complete lie.
You haven't made your point even ONCE. You've simply ignored facts and stats in favor of your opinions and rhetoric which you consider proof because you're brainwashed to a particular way of thinking.

The deflection in your post...you know, the part where you avoided answering my questions;

"What were the State laws at the time...how many had open carry or concealed carry...how many schools could or did authorize carry inside the school...?..."

"it just wasn't what you wanted to hear."...because you didn't address one aspect of anything I asked. YOU have nothing...and it shows.

The sources they used were not their own. You kneejerkers can't deal with reality, which has very little to do with your 19th century mentality.

Truth hurts.

Do tell...that would be the Federal Law, "Gun Free Zone"...what were the State Laws...how many States had open carry or even concealed carry laws on the books...? We NOW have all 50 States having some form of concealed carry...Illinois being the last and mandated by the courts. We may not have had the "Gun Free Zone" law at the time, but there were still many restrictions in the way of legally carrying a gun at a school.
I don't have the answer to that question. Do you?

And now, answer MY question. You gun nuts are fond of emphasizing how more people carrying guns would decrease crime and school shootings. More people than ever carry (even according to you), and yet, it has not had an impact on crime. There is more gun violence than at any time in history.

So if there are fewer restrictions regarding gun ownership and carrying, why do you idiots rally and squeal that your gun rights are being taken?

Make up your mind.

Meanwhile, answer that question. You never have, and I've asked it many times.

Armed teachers, guards bolster school security in Israel

So.......we have now come full circle in this discussion with (supposedly) a new group of nuts trying to cover the same ground that has been discussed ad nauseam with you kneejerkers being exposed for your mistakes and errors time and again.

Tell you what--why don't you morons go back to the beginning of this thread and read through it so you won't have to cover the same ground. K?

That won't work.

Israeli a militarized society with compulsory military service.

We need teachers who know how to teach and just getting that is hard enough.

Introducing guns as ,side arms, would be a distraction from a teachers mission statement.

I like this example by Israel that Fox didn't report:

1) Israel has a lot fewer guns than we do.

Fact. Israel has 12 times fewer guns per capita than America. Let me say that again: twelve times. In order to reach the same rate of gun ownership here as in Israel, we'd have to get rid of approximately 247 million guns.

2) Israel bans assault rifles.

That law we allowed to expire in 2004? Israel's got it. And no one there argues they need a semi-automatic to hunt ibex.

3) Israel has no individual right to bear arms.

Israel has no Second Amendment. And no one there believes that they need a gun to be safe from the central government. True, this may be because Israel is beset on all sides by enemies bent on its total annihilation rather than, say, our average 2nd amend. nut job. Nevertheless, Israel controls who has a gun much more strongly than the Supreme Court has said our Constitution allows.

4) Israel sharply limits ammunition purchases.

You can't buy more than 50 rounds a year in the Holy Land. The Newtown killer reportedly had hundreds on him when he walked in to Sandy Hook Elementary.

The question is: How do we protect kids in school?

The answer is: DON'T send them to public schools!

In fact an even better answer is: HOME SCHOOL them that kids!

I'll go you one better: Follow the Swiss model, which was what the founding fathers of the U.S. did.
It has been the individual states which have allowed their militias to become essentially nonexistent anymore.

The Dick Act (1902) drove that even further with the formation of the 'National Guard.'

Care to provide a link that PROVES that which you state?
Sure I will. Just google Israeli gun laws and take your pick.

Here's a statement from one source you and Lapierre might like;

JERUSALEM (AP)— Israel’s policy on issuing guns is restrictive, and armed guards at its schools are meant to stop terrorists, not crazed or disgruntled gunmen, experts id Monday, rejecting claims by America’s top gun lobby that Israel serves as proof for its philosophy that the US needs more weapons, not fewer.

Far from the image of a heavily armed population where ordinary people have their own arsenals to repel attackers, Israel allows its people to acquire firearms only if they can prove their professions or places of residence put them in danger. The country relies on its security services, not armed citizens, to prevent terror attacks.

Home school those that are kids.

I would suggest you send your kids to public schools.

I'd have to disagree with that summation. For it worked with our forebears in the 1700-1800's. And in much of that time WE were a "militarized" society.
"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property... Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them."--Thomas Paine
"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the WHOLE BODY of PEOPLE always POSSESS ARMS, and be taught alike especially when young, how to use them." (Richard Henry Lee, Walter Bennett, ed., Letters from the Federal Farmer to the Republican, at 21,22,124 [Univ. of Alabama Press,1975])
We have progressed beyond that point.

Granted , it has not always in the proper direction but we are very urbanized now and were not back then.

Teachers need to spend their time teaching , back then education was not complex , to say the least.

What made us great back then, can make us great again.

Maybe you should give that a try so you wouldn't look so ignorant like you did with comments like;

“More people than ever carry (even according to you), and yet, it has not had an impact on crime.”

“There is more gun violence than at any time in history.”
