Sorry Rochelle, but nobody has forgotten what happened in Newtown. Well maybe you Demolibs have since nothing other than punishing law abiding citizens, who want to protect themselves from the Adam Lanza type people in the world, has been proposed. The information from the search warrants, without any insight of the actual investigation, have been released. The public already had this information, and the Demolibs are acting as this is breaking news to justify their emasculation of the Second Amendment.

What is the big secret here? Why can't the public see the preliminary investigation? There seems to have been red flags missed with Lanza that could have prevented this tragedy other than firearms. Why aren't these being addressed?

i would never want to minimize the anguish of the families of the sandy hook massacre. this event is almost unbelievable and just so shocking, i think the nation was literally speechless for several days. this was a terrible event, one of the worst i've seen in my life.

it has not been forgotten, but i do have a question. i did a little online reading (please forgive me if my data is not 100%) but i believe it to be reasonably accurate. approx 1150 people die in the continental united states everyday from cigarettes, approx 30 of them are children under the age of 12 who were non smokers and died from cancer caused by secondhand smoke.

so everyday in america we have more children killed than were killed in the sandy hook massacre. EVERY SINGLE DAY!! adults are smoking around their children and murdering them and no murder charges are being filed. no lawsuits filed against the rj reynolds or phillip morris. this is no public outcry, no rage, no rallies. about 30 kids per day and no one cares.

people are soooo upset because sandy hook is being forgotten, so my question is so what? sandy hook happened again yesterday only it was sidestream smoke, not bullets. sandy hook will happen tomorrow only it will be sidestream smoke, not bullets.

once again, forgive me if my atats are not 100%, but since sandy hook in december, around 2700 innocent children have been murdered by their smoking parents without any criminal charges filed and you ask why we don't care about the 20 kids killed in newtown?

i'm very sorry if i've offended anyone hurt by this horrible spree shooting but you all need get your priorities straight.

adam lanza broke the law by murdering his mother, stealing her guns, tampering with evidence by destroying his hard drive, crossing state lines with stolen guns, possessing a handgun while underage, entering school property with stolen guns, and he broke the law by the premeditated murder of 26 human beings.

how sheltered must you be to believe that passing more laws will deter the adam lanza's of the world. i believe he actually ran past a sign on school property that plainly stated "no firearms beyond this point" and shocking enough, that didn't stop him.

so go ahead america, pass more laws. pass all the laws you can think of if it makes you feel better.

are you disputing me or the facts that i quoted from the media?

i think the media is a crock but that version of events seems to be the accepted version of how it all happened.

are you refering to the conspiracy theories concerning newtown or the media hype intended to push legistlation?

regardless, another 30 or so kids will be killed by sidestream smoke by this time tomorrow. i didn't enter this thread to get into a gun control debate. i wanted to show that all the gang shootings, murders, suicides, accidental shootings and spree killings don't even come close to equaling the daily death toll from cigarettes...and yet here we all are again, arguing over guns with no one caring about the larger death toll.

in response to my gun control statement...

had every teacher and administrator in that school been armed...the body count would've been much lower.

a "gun free zone" means easy pickings for a psycho...do you think it's a random coincidence that spree killings happen at schools and theaters WHERE WEAPONS ARE PROHIBITED? when was the last time we had a spree killing at a gun show, a gun store or a sportsmen's club?...that would be never.

no guns = easy victims

Phasma I agree. If we all had guns then we wouldn't even be discussing all of this. And yes, nicotine kills more people everyday than all violent crime and car accidents combined. Yet as you mentioned, there is no rage, no anger.

..... I'm disputing that you actually believe the media is quoting facts. Crossing state lines? Underage handgun? He broke the computer? The politicians are wagging the dog on this one within hours of it happenning. Llodra, Malloy and Blumenthal stole the pulpit from the priest for the first vigil and had a hard time keeping the smile off their faces. We still don't get the truth now 3 months out, just a bunch of fodder to make it look like they are being honest. With hiding so much, the possibility of the Police destoying the computer to hide the truth looks like a reality. Do you think he's really going to leave full print outs of everything and think that breaking the computer will hide it? I think if that was anywhere near true he would have burned down the house to hide it all. There's now been plenty of time to plant some stuff there and get the old creative juices going as to what kind of lies the public will believe about this.

i do agree with you (i think), i know that the bushmaster was found in the trunk of the car after the shooting because i saw that on the news that day. it wasn't until the next day that they announced that the scary looking "assault rifle" was actually the weapon used.

my first instinct would've been to set fire to the house also except that a house fire plus a missing car could've started a hunt (APB or BOLO) for the vehicle which could've screwed up his plans. yes, the officers could've destroyed adam lanza's pc but anyone with basic IT tech skills would've known to shatter the hdd's ceramic platters.

do i know the facts? no. i was not there so i do not. but i do know that there are many unanswered questions? where were the other 600 children?, why did one of the fathers laugh then "get into character" before a tear jerking interview?, how...in the history of the human race, did adam lanza manage to accomplish the first spree killing with multiple fatalities and ZERO wounded? was this whole thing orchestrated by the government?

my answer to all of these questions is maybe.

here's a thought provoking question. maybe a major survival industry group arranged this massacre, do you have any idea what this massacre has done for weapons, ammo and survival gear sales? how many billions of dollars have traded hands in these fields since december? had we known in advance that sandy hook was going down beforehand, how many of us would've throw in and cashed in?

i don't have the answers. i do know that cigarettes kill hundreds of people more per day than guns...so why the fuss over guns? who gives a sh--?
car accidents kill and maim more than guns per day...so why the fuss over guns? who gives a sh--? is it because an ak47 or bushmaster is scary and a buick regal isn't?...when in fact that buick regal is much more likely to kill you, your spouse and or your children.

Obama, Biden, Feinstein and all their hate groups certainly were not speechless. They wasted no time to try and exploit these murdered children to further their political agenda.

There have been other terrible events like this, yet this one seems to have a life of its' own in politics. Could it be since Blumenthals father-in-law owns a ton of media? Or maybe since a school that teaches being in the media is in Stratford, Ct.?
