Yeah they do and while I have, at times, had to divide my posts up into two(2) or even three(3) posts, they typically do post my comments in their entirety which anyone can read after a couple taps of the refresh button to allow them the time require to format them, but I understand that you ran out of room.

The current background check system enforces the GCA of 1968. The problem is not a lack of penalties, but selective and little enforcement of the laws. Even the attempted purchase of a firearm by a excluded person is a punishable crime, just not enforced.
Which demonstrates the need for harsher penalties for gun sellers who fail to enforce the law, as the President has suggested.
FormerParatrooper wrote:
Registration was done in Canada, Russia,China,Germany and other places. The lists, along with state agents were used to selectively confiscate firearms. CAN IT HAPPEN IN THE US, PROGABLY NOT, there is a concern such lists could be used to confiscate what is legally owned today if a law or prohibition is passed tomorrow. Confiscated things are never paid for by government, just taken.
As you, yourself, have concluded, such confiscations are likely NOT to happen here in the U.S., so why even suggest in passing such nonsensical improbabilities?
FormerParatrooper wrote:
You post about the economic activity of the firearms industry seemed to suggest a safeguard against banning firearms.
Yes, I did, didn't I? A VERY compelling argument, wouldn't you agree, given the financial impact on the U.S economy such a ban would pose?!
FormerParatrooper wrote:
I argue some States have list portions of the economic activity due to laws they have passed.
Could you clarify this statement? I'm uncertain if you're suggesting a new proposition or reiterating the information contained in what I referred to within the posted links.
FormerParatrooper wrote:
You can argue whether it is a conditioned response or nature that government is distrusted. You cannot claim the current cadre has done nothing to keep this alive. He has exhibited a displeasure with the constraints the Constitution places on Government. And he seems to enjoy dividing people along lines of social, economic, and other status.
This is all fodder for a different discussion in a different thread, though I will point out that the only ones within the present governmental hierarchy who've demonstrated a particular displeasure with the legislative restraints embedded within our U.S. Constitution are those members of Congress (i.e., the Republican House) who've attempted to have sections of the U.S. Constitution repealed, amended, or altogether replaced, of which our current President, a former Constitutional Law professor, is NOT a member, so let's not engage in the casting of such disingenuous aspersions.
FormerParatrooper wrote:
All you propose as a compelling argument to keep firearms from the mentally unbalanced and criminally inclined will not do so.
Which is EXACTLY what you asked for, is it not?
FormerParatrooper wrote:
Nothing short of every firearm in the world being collected and destroyed will do so. Instead we must minimize the ability of such people to get firearms. The lack of enforcement of these laws create the climate that enables excluded people to get firearms.
Which is my whole point in that I sincerely believe that the imposition and enforcement of the proposed more so stringent gun laws WOULD serve to do just that!

They managed to keep it hidden for a long time!

You won't see Obama getting on tv and wagging his finger at any black for committing a hate crime against a white. He probably thinks that baby and old man had it coming. Nope, he's loving that kind of bigotry, the hypocrite.

That's the sad part...most right wingers just repeat what they've heard (communist, fascist, socialist) and don't even know what they mean, lol.
for example: you say some liberals are communist and fascists, and socialists....yet all those things contradict each other. You can't be a socialist communist and a fascist at the same time. The completely contradict each other, lol.

No, you didn't. The requirement was to come up with not only compelling, but especially reasonable, arguments for gun registration and background checks. Nothing you posted met that requirement.

<quoted text>Do you really need me to tell you what those words mean? I mean, even if you do not know...we have a thing on the internet now called FreeDictionary. It's pretty cool. It's a site where you can look up words, and find the meaning!
But, I'll play along...
Fascist is when people are ruled by a dictator with social and economic control, and suppression of the opposition through terror.
(Obviously Obama is NOT a dictator, because we have a CONGRESS!
Communism is when the Government takes control of ALL of private property, and goods are given to all as needed.
(that contradicts fascism because communism is not ruled by one dictator..it's ruled by a Gov't, and under fascism, since the state holds all rights, it also retains control over the production of goods, and services. Unlike communism, fascism openly uses the resources to pursue the interests of the government.
socialism is a system that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land , etc.....
(Do you really need me to explain how fascism and communism contradicts socialism?)
Liberal means a person is not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, religion, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry!
Right Winger are conservatives....but, they only conserve the wealth of their backers. The Right wingers have supported some of the most wasteful and environmentally destructive policies ever known to humanity.
You're welcome!

I would think that someone who seems as passionate about your beliefs as you appear to be, that you would avoid making enemies before we even get out of the debate gate. Maybe I agree with you. How will you ever know that if you make me mad before we even get started?

We are a republic. The difference when you have a democracy is the PEOPLE themselves make the laws, and hash it out at town hall meetings, etc....
A republic is where we HIRE people to make those decisions for us (Governors, senators, etc...)
I think a republic is WORSE than a democracy, because we are letting a handful of people make these important decisions for us.
But, they both have their good and bad points.
I prefer BOTH depending on the circumstances for reason that should be obvious to anyone enducated in politics.

I never bad mouthed you.
Explaining to you that we have FreeDictionary online (because you were asking me the meaning of words) is not bad mouthing you. You are too sensitive.
If you think it is "bad mouthing" then maybe that's your own insecurities for not knowing the meaning of the words?
Please don't deflect your own insecurities onto me :D
Now, if you want to explain why you asked the meanings/or whether you agree with me or not then I'm here....but you seem to be playing immature games to me.

I mean, I used to do that 4 years ago....try something new. Something funnier...make me LAUGH at least!
Also, anyone with half a brain can see who is intelligent, and who is not. The poster that RUNS from a intelligent debate, hides behind name calling, lame jokes, and multiple profiles is obviously the unintelligent one :)
Why run away from intelligent people? Are you afraid?

I asked because I wished to know what you thought those words to mean.
If I wished to know what a dictionary said they are, I would simply look them up. I already did that before asking you what you though they mean.
It is apparent from the get go, that you think me beneath you and your self inflated ego, and are incapable of stopping yourself from demeaning others in your writings.
I guess I'll just take the "insecurities" you projected to me, and look for honest debate on these things elsewhere. I fear I will not get honesty from you. You have it all knowed up already in your mind. Your loss.
You yourself may wish to actually look up those definitions. I doubt you will. You should though.
ciao
