Truth is stranger than fiction.
But when you follow the money, it becomes clearer.

Who profits from effective gun control? Australia etc...

Who's biggest Corporate Domestic Industry loses?

The slaughters are just collateral damage.

5 x the murder rate is acceptable. Let them die.

1/3 of "The People" need to shoot at targets on aweekenmd.

The short term answer. The NRA suggests Federal Nanny State Armed Guards to protect the unarmed citizens. At everyone elses expence.

Nanny state with firearms. I thought thaty 3was what they didnt want.

But you have to look at the money.

Forks cause obesity. LOL.

It is just the opposite.

It is the unarmed combat with hot dogs, hamburgers, fried chicken, frnch fries, oversized slurpies that do the damage.

If meals were healthy and regular using cutlery the problem would be moderated.
For those who live within the law, are mentally competent, and know how to properly use it... possessing a firearm isn't a problem either.

Brits want handgun ban repealed, says newspaper poll
An overwhelming majority of British citizens want their country’s handgun ban repealed, according to the results of an on-line poll conducted by the Daily Telegraph, described Wednesday as the United Kingdom’s “most widely read broadsheet newspaper” by the Commentator.
As this column was updated Thursday, more than 14,900 votes had been cast in the unscientific poll, and of those, 12,603 support a repeal of the 1997 gun ban, an 84.35 percent vote. It far out-distanced votes for several other measures that Britons would like to see introduced in the House of Commons, according to the newspaper.
For anti-gunners on both sides of the Atlantic, it is a devastating rejection of the gun ban philosophy. The ban was enacted following the Dunblane school massacre. The Commentator noted,“While gun crime soared after the British ban in 1997, rates of gun violence have fallen, especially in British cities, following more spending by police forces into tackling gun crime. Police in England and Wales recorded 5,911 firearms offences in 2011/12, a reduction of 42 percent compared with nine years earlier, according to the Office for National Statistics.”
But the Commentator also said this:
“But statistics from the United States show that guns are used by citizens to defend themselves around eighty times more often than they are used to take a life. A recent study published in the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy concluded that there is a negative correlation between gun ownership and violent crime in countries internationally, that is,“where firearms are most dense violent crime rates are lowest, and where guns are least dense violent crime rates are highest."
Results of the poll were revealed Wednesday by the newspaper, which was still accepting votes as Examiner’s special late Wednesday edition was being written.
The Telegraph opened polling on May 24 and it did not take long for the votes to come rolling in. Regarding the handgun ban repeal suggestion, one reader observed,“After all, why should only criminals be ‘allowed’ to possess guns and shoot unarmed, defenceless citizens and police officers?”
Support for the handgun ban repeal eclipsed the 7.68 percent support for the next most popular idea, a flat tax, and left other suggestions in the dust. Those included a term limit for Prime Ministers, a ban on spitting, the greening of public spaces and closing something called the “child maintenance loophole.”
The suggestions were part of a discussion the newspaper reported about “Private Member Bills” that could be offered to Ministers of Parliament. According to the newspaper,“under Commons rules, any MP can introduce a bill, but only a few are ever debated. There is no indication that any of the suggested bills discussed by the newspaper will actually lead to legislation.
Next time anti-gunners in the United States point to Great Britain as a model they would like this country to follow, it is likely gun rights organizations and activists will point to the Daily Telegraph poll.

I was not aware that the American anti gun lobby look to the UK as a model to follow regarding gun laws, which I find rather interesting and understandable. The UK citizens are overwhelmingly in favor of a hand gun bun and therefore should have their wishes enforced by their government, and probably will. This is democracy at work! Americans are overwhelmingly in favor of background checks and yet still fail to get such laws past their congress, because of their absolute corruption by the gun lobby and NRA, this is in complete denial of what their people want, therefore anti democratic.

How do you know that every law abider who owns a gun (or in the case of Americans, an arsenal) won't go postal? How do you know? You don't! What you do know and you can guarantee is, if and when they decide to(as has been the case) they have one of the easiest and popular methods for mass murder at the ready, one that even a child can use without needing super strength, with which to murder their mates or innocents double their size.

problem here in the US is people have no clue and have short memories but back in 1994 that was the purpose of what the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to require Back ground checks which the State of Arizona refused to adhere to.

The Brady Act requires that background checks be conducted on individuals before a firearm may be purchased from a federally licensed dealer.

Pedophilia is one, if not the most despicable crimes against children and to accuse someone constantly without a shred of evidence is simply irresponsible and adding to the apathy of the crime and those who commit it......Get yourself a feckin' job, and get rid of the kiddy porn you sicko!

But it is not broad enough to encompass gun shows and any family to family member sale or gift....it should be broadened to include ALL hand gun transfers or sales and it is NOT! so you keep quoting that law...like it is gospel, because it is about as believable!

Nationwide campaign to get guns away from criminals

NEARLY 60 guns were stolen in WA last month it's been revealed, as police launch a campaign to get illegal and stolen guns out of the hands of criminals.

Cross checking Anon.
Read the suggestion at the end of this thread's article.
Cross checking for Campus Records.

Jared Loughner, expelled from Campus for being scary and not permitted back without a psych evaluation. The notice was served with police protection.

James Holmes, seeing a Campus Psych who reported him to Campus security as a safety risk.

Adam Lanza, denied a permit to purchase firearms. But he was NRA Certified for firearms. How the hell does someone get trained and certified at gun clubs who is deemed unfit for ownership?

Hawaii manages to keep it's murder rate down.
So does every other country.
Yet they still have shooting enthusiests.
Some even manage to win Olympic Medals for shooting.
