I don't know where those numbers come from but Australia ranks 1st for total crime which is 43% higher than the US too according to Nation Master.

So then its because of your bans? So before the bans you had thousands of gun murders per year and the ban cut that down to some tiny number? And by simply banning guns the US would also have only 20 gun murders a year?
Because it sounds like that's what you're trying to say. But the numbers prove your gun ban was a knee-jerk reaction to a single shooting and that you've always had very low homicide rates.
To be honest (if you can) it was never about your homicide rate, and if you'll be 100% honest there were some years AFTER the ban when your gun death rate actuallu peaked a bit. Can you be that honest here, I somehow doubt it!
No, you just have to admit that your high murder rate is driven by the fact that guns are easily available to murderers.
Your non gun murder rate is the same as other Nations.

Your mass murder rate is somewhat higher.

The point of the gun control was in direct response to mass shootings.
Seems to have slowed them down in Australia
It is plainly obvious that the USA murder rate is because it has the highest gun ownership in the world and always has had more guns.
4.8 murder rate - 3.7 gun murder rate = 1.1 murder rate.
Australia murder rate 1.1.
ie it has always been the guns
Not childish, it's called HONEST. Now you say gun control was about a mass shooting, but until I called you on you bullshit you've been claiming the gun ban was the reason behing OZ's low gun death rate.

But you never once mention that the death rate you brag about was always low way before you banned guns...and when I mention this obvious fact I'm the childish one?

You're an ignorant ass and you've been shown up. Deal with it.

Maybe you're thinking of D.C. which had its lowest crime in over half a century after the ban was struck down. While during the ban was known around the world as a high crime city.
Chicago and illinois (chicago's state) are still very strict. I think Illinois may be the only state left that does not issue concealed carry permits, also the highest for gun deaths
Your right Illinois is the only state that doesn't issue CCW permits and if Illinois did and allowed the Citizens of Chicago to Carry the criminals would be looking for a new place to do business because there is a threat then to them.

The ones that show that violent crime rates are as follows

USA 2250
UK 2050
Aust 1050

McDonald v. Chicago

Cause

In McDonald v. City of Chicago, 561 U.S. 3025, 130 S.Ct. 3020, 177 L.Ed.2nd 894 (2010), Chicago resident Otis McDonald, a 76 year old (in 2010) retired maintenance engineer, had lived in the Morgan Park neighborhood since buying a house there in 1971. McDonald decried the decline of his neighborhood, describing it as being taken over by gangs and drug dealers. His lawn was regularly littered with refuse and his home and garage had been broken into a combined five times, with the most recent robbery committed by a man McDonald recognized from his own neighborhood. An experienced hunter, McDonald legally owned shotguns, but believed them too unwieldy in the event of a robbery, and wanted to purchase a handgun for personal home defense. Due to Chicago's requirement that all firearms in the city be registered, yet refusing all handgun registrations after 1982 when a citywide handgun ban was passed, he was unable to legally own a handgun. As a result, in 2008, he joined three other Chicago residents in filing a lawsuit which became McDonald v. Chicago.

More twisting huh. 500%? Ahaha 3.7% is more like it. I mean we could say a nickel is $00% more than a penny but in reality a penny is 1% of a dollar - a nickel is 5% of a dollar - for a grand total of 4% difference.

Of course saying a nickel is 400% MORE than a penny is more dramatic than saying 4% of a dollar - eh?

I would say that your murder rate is because of the extraordinary amount of guns and poverty the US has.

Are you trying to say that Australia has always had a lower murder rate because we really dont have that many guns?

So by your faulty logic, Australia would have had a 4.8/100k honicide rate right up until they banned guns? And that if the US banned guns our rate would fall to 1.1?

Do you see the problem here? Can you post proof that your homicide rate fell from 4.8 down to 1.1 AFTER the gun bans? Because if you can't, then this whole argument of yours is FULL OF HOLES

Quite telling. Are you sure that is not Total murders. Our gun murders are so insignificant as to barely register.

Our murder rate has always been low because we were never Staurated with firearms.
