Everything you mentioned are state and local laws. That's fine. The people have direct control over their state governments. If the people of a state don't object to what their state legislators do, it's on them. There is virtually no control over the federal government, yours or mine. They can pretty much do as they please.
A: No they can't, Gillard is finding that out here, she ousted a PM that rid us of Howard and then took his job and she will pay for that in the next election and that is where you do keep control of your government and then there are a small handful of jounalists brave enough to risk life and limb to keep the government honest and make them accountable....and there are the groups that band together to protest or force governments to increase invalid pensions and welfare payments, because without all those people, the government would have control, with it they don't....so we should support and encourage all those with the courage to bring us the truth regardless of how much it hurts us at great cost to themselves.
You mentioned best interests. Who determines what your best interests are? Is it really for your best interests? Isn't one capable of determining their own best interests?
A: in a democracy or republic or any free society it is those who scream the loudest, or have the courage to make a stand for a better society...
My state is the definition of a nanny state.:-)

New Jersey is third from the bottom of the least freest states. Unemployment is 9.6%. The freest state, least government, North Dakota, unemployment 3%.
A: It all boils down to what you are willing to compromise on, or give up, or introduce....is your state safer or more healthy or more financially independent than the other states, are they doing what you want them to do? If they aren't pick up that ball support those who will aid you to do that or just give in....and adapt...you have choices because you live in a free country and your governments can only do so much against your will....so how much will you take?:)

oh come on, there's a reason why Jersey's known as the ARMPIT of America, its a stinking dump, depressing wasteland with the highest crime rats in the country. That's prolly why these guidos claim to be 'southern' where they lived their whole lives north of the Mason Dixon line. No guns. no business.

PRECISELY!

Judge Alex Kozinski IS a MAN of THE PEOPLE!

May he ever be so!

But what I find even MORE amazing is that HE is an immigrant to your shores!

Imagine: An immigrant who knows MORE about U.S. law, than the very LARGEST number of numbskulls who have the temerity to refer to themselves as 'Americans!'

If the people being attacked had an arsenal, then the attacker would have been dead. Perhaps even before he got off the first shot. See how that works?
There is NO POSSIBLE WAY of disarming the whole world. And those that allow themselves to be disarmed. Are left wide open to attack by those that have not.
If there were not guns then what would you do in such a situation....there are always times when people forget them or they have them holstered...this gives the attacker the advantage....always....your case scenario might work in theory but I doubt very much it would work in reality, you have to take into account how long it registers before you percieve the attack and then if you are still alive how long it will take you to react the gunman is armed, gun loaded and ready....he has the advantage and he is on a mission.

Maybe, could be, might. It is not about the gun, it's about the mind set of not wanting to be an unarmed victim. No a gun can't just jump up and defend it's owner and not all gun owners will need a gun for defense but it is the most efficient means of self defense we have at this point in history. Just having a gun will not save your life during an attack, you must have the mind set to take an active roll in your own self defense, be it with a gun or any other means of resistance available at the time. Being unarmed simply removes the option of that tool being available if needed. Being armed may save your life, being unarmed insures your life being at the mercy of anyone wanting to take it. Criminals are not known for their mercy.

It seems the Americans feel that if they lost their guns their country would turn into some sort of dictatorship. So much for their belief in their great and glorious democracy.

This is a open letter to all of you that want more gun control. In connecticut the young man used his Mother's legal gun to kill those children. He had downs syndrome and his mother thought him to shoot.

In Colorado's movie theater . He had Legal guns ,he was not a felon.

So what will this B.S. legislation do except make people feel good?

Because criminals are selfish cowards. And always seek the path of least resistance. That's why almost none of those mass shooters try their treachery in police stations or army bases.(Only the suicidal/homicidal maniacs do that). Armed people are a FREE and SAFE people. The unarmed are left to the mercy of their attacker. And are left with no recourse.
God gave us the precious gift of Life. And He expects us to take measures to PRESERVE it:
“When a strong man armed, keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace”--Jesus, Luke 11:21
"And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through".--Jesus, Luke 12:39
Then said he unto them, "But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one".-- Jesus, whom is the Christ - The Lord, Luke 22:36
There are also many warnings to people that will not defend themselves or their faith:
"For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape....."-- 1 Thess. 5:3
Do you know who were the first people yo practice arms control?-
1 Samuel 13:19 -
Now there was no smith found throughout all the land of Israel: for the Philistines said, Lest the Hebrews make [them] swords or spears:
And this is the reason WHY we must never allow the disarming of American Citizens;
1 Samuel 13:22 -
So it came to pass in the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that [were] with Saul and Jonathan: but with Saul and with Jonathan his son was there found.
"A View of that great and flourishing City of BOSTON, when in its purity, and out of the Hands of the Philistines."
- A Declaration Setting forth the Causes and Necessity Of their taking up Arms, July 6th, 1775.
And where are the "Philistines" now?(Seems as if they have subversively spread all around the world).
Thus can those that that support 'gun control' can be referred to as "Philistines".
Are >you< a "Philistine" Ahomana?

America is crazy. And i'm American. Our gun laws are insaine, our media is insaine, its just slowly becoming a huge shit hole. All you see now is violence and slutty underage girls partying and random mass shootings all over the news. Its just out of hand, i can clearly see why we have such a bad stareotype. We need to clean up our act.
