I hope they get somewhere with this. Do you guys think that Obama will actually be able to rally the feds to try and enforce his gun laws in Arizona, especially with Joe Arpaio around and the fact that Arizona as a whole is well...very pro-gun?

I was at the Capitol building. What I saw was patriotism, freedom of speech and assembly, and hundreds of American men and women exercising their right to keep and bear arms. I was openly carrying my gun, but the only things brandished were flags and signs.

it was designed to intimidate and threaten. Assault weapons don't belong in the city.

If Travis Alexander's roommate had had weapons, they might have saved his life from the psychopathic shower killer.

we all should keep assault weapons and large clips handy and perhaps a harpoon in the shower because you never know when you might encounter a psychopathic shower killer.

"We demand it according to law; we demand it upon the guarantees of the Constitution. You are bound to guaranty to us are republican form of Government, and we ask it as constitutional right. We do not ask you to interfere as a party, as your feelings or prejudices may be one way or another in reference to the parties of the country; but we ask you to interfere as a Government according to the Constitution. Of course we want your sympathy, and your regard, and your respect; but we ask your interference on constitutional grounds.
"The amendments to the Constitution, which constitute the bill of rights, declare that "a regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep bear arms shall not be infringed." Our people are denied this right secured to them in their constitution and the Constitution of the United States; yet we hear no complaints here of violations of the Constitution in this respect. We ask the Government to interpose to secure us this constitutional right."

The only target I have ever leveled a weapon at was a PAPER target.
I've never even pointed an unloaded gun at another human being.
Not even an animal. But, at the end of the day, if it's between a nut case like
Arias and me, I want to be the one to go home.

“The best definition of citizen, according to European writers, which I have been able to find, is a "native or inhabitant of a city vested with its freedom and liberties." The "freedom and liberties," or "privileges and immunities," essential to a citizen, were those I have mentioned; and although the name was original confined to the inhabitant of a city, yet when these principles were diffused among, and conferred on, the inhabitants of the country, they, having the same attributes, took the name. The rights of an American citizen are essentially the same: to elect, be elected, and bear arms in his defence; they are essential, for, divest him of these, and you divest him of his citizenship. He has other essential rights, those of property and personal security under the protection of laws fairly administered; but he has these in common with foreigners, and in some respects with slaves."

Pg. 681.(John Holmes (March 14, 1773 – July 7, 1843) was an American politician. He served as a U.S. Representative from Massachusetts and was one of the first two U.S. Senators from Maine).
