White House Demands American Sheriffs Enforce Gun Control

Mar 30, 2013 Full story: Free Republic 18

It's about to get real people. There are those in law enforcement who are standing for the law of the land and then there are the radical Socialists in Washington who seek to trample the law under their feet.

The Sheriff is normally elected. It's going to be pretty hard to remove him from office. Even if it were to happen another would be elected that likely has the same feelings.

The Sheriff also gets to set the priorities in his jurisdiction. If he wants to make a 15 round magazine the lowest priority to deal with he will.

A Sheriff , unlike the President , is elected by the people.

Talk about your double standards...the White House "DEMANDS" that Sheriffs enforce gun control laws and cry when the States and Sheriffs TRY to enforce federal immegration laws!!! Even use force tactics to stop them.

I'm glad to see them tell the WH to KMA...it's great!!

Seems to me that the White House should not be in a position to demand anything of the sheriffs. They too took an oath to uphold the constitution -- which is something these "feel-good" laws are violating.

Printz v. U.S.

Fed asking state or county LEOs to enforce Fed laws is an abuse of power.

Why is it Eric Holder can cherry-pick the laws he wants the local LEOs to enforce or ignore? Like immigration laws.....

I thought Printz v. U.S., 521 U.S. 898 (1997) settled this already.

Seems to me these "Sheriffs" should uphold the treason laws of this country. Any president or elected official who attempts to subvert the Constitution is guilty of treason and should face the penalty of law.

I would never trust any LEO with my gun. They never walk the talk.

Why? There's plenty of barbed wire that can be used just as effectively. ;)
I wouldn't want PETA after me for cruelty to animals.

I doubt that PETA would care about what happens to vipers.

I love the Rosa Parks comparison. One could also add, would you have turned in Anne Frank if you knew where she was hiding? That was the law too.

Cops don't want anyone interferring with police work. Leave the victim lay on the ground and die.
