They sure are. Are you listening to Sweinstein, see wants to ban common semi auto rifles such as the AR 15, and it just happened in Connecticut this week. The magazine bans are also de facto gun bans, it happened in New York already. NY passed a no more than seven cartridge mag ban...no gun maker makes them, uh so that is a gun ban because the firearm, in a legal sense, is useless. The list of gun owner harassment continues, like a 50% ammo tax and so on. Make no mistake about it these people that are saying that "we support the 2A, but we just want common sense gun control" are lying. They want a total emasculation of the 2A. Even Sweinstein admitted at one time she would ban all guns if she could.
People like you have drunk the socialist liberal Kool Aid.
How could you not to make it illegal for civilians to own certain categories of firearms, especially with so many maniacs on the loose? My point is that there is no serious talk about an overall gun ban. You'd still have enough firepower to defend yourself against god-knows-what.

When the second amendment was written, an "assault weapon" was a musket. Do you honestly think that if they could foresee the kinds of firearms available today, they would have written the amendment the same way? Not likely.

Liberals are all about emotions, whatever makes them feel good. They cannot reason anything out logically. The Constitution protects my right to own firearms. Period. Don't like the 2nd amendment, go for a constitutional amendment, but all this cry baby nonsense will get you nothing. I am more concerned about Obama's ghetto gunners spilling over into my community then I am about Sandy Hook, and their problems.

<quoted text>Guns will cause the fewest deaths. School shootings are rare. They're caused by YOUR gun bans at schools. On average, about 26 children die every day from sickness and disease, and then from accidents (most from car crashes, not guns), and then homicides, and many of those not by gun.
"America has the most guns and the most freedom." Only fools and communists would listen to you about gun control.
The 2nd amendment allows us to kill cops and soldiers if or when the govt goes rogue. Your pacifist crap is deadly and selfish. If anyone thinks it violent now with guns, consider what it will be like when only the Govt has them.
Communists like you are always comparing America to other craphole countries - that in itself tells us your're a pos. Your messiah Obama is so assbackwards he failed to end war, sends billions of taxdollars to countries most of us never heard of and their people actually hate us, WHILE he furloughs thousands of govt employees.
Since you still use the term "communists", I guess you are about 150 years old. At that age, you might be forgiven for seeing communists under your bed.

Homes with guns are 40 times more likely to have at least one family member wounded or killed with one. Twist your way out of that one, Fido.

The "countries we've never heard of" are populated by human beings, most of whom are just as worthy as most of us.

Finally, two points.
1- Unlike you Tories, I don't live in the 17th century.
2- If you think I'm a pacifist, that would be your biggest mistake of all.

What happened to the early theory that Adam was to be committed? No doctor, no prescription, but maybe a burden. I think the cops broke the computer, they are crooked enough, just to hide Adams research on it. Newtown has a history of falsifying documents and crooked lawyers that work within Probate, so why not help his rich mother out? Blumenthal is the biggest crook of all, writing laws to make it legal to steal and dismissing legitimate cases as multi-million $ favors for Newtown locals. One thing is very clear, the politicians do not want the truth out.

The same claims have been made since the '90's when concealed carry licenses were first being issued in Florida. And now almost 20 years later, with 49 states having CCP's and the 50th (Illinois) having to enact it soon, the "wild west" and "blood running in the streets" scenarios have yet to materialize, dispite gun ownership increasing by roughly 40% in just the last ten years.
Try again.

The truth of the matter is that it is extremely difficult for anyone, let alone a lightly trained and inexperienced individual to effectively respond to a shooter.

Even trained professionals (cops) have been known to accidentally shoot civilians during a shoot out. Case in point, the shooting last year in NYC between the cops and a disgruntle employee. Cops accidently hit 9 innocent bystanders. These are highly trained professionals that train extensively.

John Hinckley Jr. managed to nearly kill Ronald Reagan and permanently disable James Brady despite the fact that they were surrounded by dozens of heavily armed men with the best training imaginable.

The musket was their weapon of the day, and the average citizen was allowed to possess one because it was the "common firearm" just as cited in the Heller decision. So that means the average modern day citizen should be allowed to own the most common semi auto rifles such as an AR. Your first sentence does really say it all.

If we follow your thought process regarding the drafters of the Constitution not foreseeing modern firearms, then the First Amendment should not cover free speech on the Internet, as our forefathers old not have possibly conceived that we would be communicating world wide nearly instantly. Get out your turkey quill pen and ink well if you want free speech.

Who are these socialist liberal democrats who opened the borders for criminal illegal aliens?? A cabal whose sole purpose is to do what? Destabilize the country, invite anarchy, hand the country over to Kim Jung un???
You know, I donít mind debating a point, but when the talking points veer off into the realm of the absurd or an old X File episode, I got nothing.
Donít worry, no one will take your firearms or add on any new restrictions. This is another exercise in futility, Congress will do nothing and shooting deaths will continue.
Uh, let me think on this one, let me start with Obama. Failing to protect the borders and allowing illegals from Mexico come into border states and perpetrate violent crime. Talk to people on the Texas and Arizona borders.

Then Obama's answer is what, "a path to citizenship." My answer is a path to a jail cell until we can deport them.

So far the Demolibs are not handing the country over to Kim Jung Un yet, but give them time.

One last point, shall we bring up Eric Holder along with Fast and Furious. That debacle got more people, including children, killed than SH, VT, and Aurora combined. Where were Obama's tears on that one.

Do realize that 2020 set it up so the "demonstration" would go the way they wanted? Including the "shooter" knowing exactly which student was armed so he could take him out first.

You are right. No one should have a gun that has not been trained to use it. There are gun clubs, and gun ranges that offer safety training. That being said every house should not be protected by a trained shooter.
