Our lawmakers would not see light in a dark tunnel with a train coming at them.

Most of them are to old and polarized over issues based on party affiliation rather then what is best for the USA.

Just the revenue alone, one would think, would be enough for politicians to jump at the idea. The ease on the penal and justice systems would also save a great deal of money. And people would gripe a lot less about the incompetence in Washington if they were stoned a little more often. But, alas, the drug companies have too much money, too much power, and too much to lose if ol' Mary Jane were to be thoroughly studied for its medicinal value. Not to say that's the only reason it's still illegal but it's on the list.

Sad, but true. Too much money to be made by keeping it illegal.
