Ditto. Shot a new XD .45 this weekend. You are right the first five shots at 40 feet placed in a two-inch group. The feel of the grip and the handling excellent.

Bought a 24/7 9mm.Out of the box it jammed 30 to 40 times and the slide would not go into battery. Was not happy.Read posts about simular problems. Some said to take the gun apart and clean relube.Took the gun back to the range.Only had 12 miss fires out of 100 rounds.Cleaned gun again and went back to the range shot 11o rounds.Shot perfect.Called taurus thet said some guns need a break in of 300 plus rounds. Will go to the range again.I feel the problem is resolved. Will let you know.

So to hear you had problems with your 9mm. The day I bought mine, I came home and took it apart first thing, and cleaned it. It had way too much grease on it. I cleaned it thouroughly, and relubed it with Remington Rem Oil with teflon lubricant. So far I have shot nothing but the cheap CCI Blazers, and Winchester FMJ's and Hollow points, with ABSOLUTELY no misfires or jams out of the 200+ rounds I have shot. It shoots remarkably accurate, as a matter of fact, I have out shot my brother-in laws brand new SW M&P 40 everytime. He bought a new 24/7 Pro 40 the same day I bought my 9mm, but before he even shot the gun, he sold it to his neighbor and bought the S&W 40. We all got together and shot about 100 rounds Saturday, and his neighbor, having never owned a pistol in his entire life, shot much more accurate than my brother in law, my brother-in-law has shot thousands of rounds in his life, and was very disgusted that we out shot him. He claims his sights must be off. Ours were dead on out of the box. I love my Taurus, plan on keeping it for a long time... Keep us updated on the performance of your gun.

I am also having trouble with the Taurus .45 24/7 PRO. The rounds just dont seem to feed out of the magazines. I load a mag and I have trouble even tring to push the rounds out. I called Taurus and they had me send my mags in for replacement and the new mags do work better. It went from 3 or 4 jams per mag to the last time I took it out it jammed 2 out of 100 rounds... which to me I am NOT going to bet my life on so at work I still carry my Glock. I am still seriously considering just sending my Taurus back and getting a Glock .45 When I was making up my mind on what new .45 ACP to buy my deciding factor was the 24/7 was the NRA gun of the year. I emailed NRA and told them what I think of thier 'Gun of the Year' maybe if they get enough complaints they may change thier story.
But anyways, so far I am VERY unhappy with the Taurus .45 ACP 24/7 PRO
The trouble is in the slide catch spring. The spring on my pistol came off, put it on and problem solved. no need to send to Taurus.

just bought a pt24/7 pro c ds. not impresed- shot 100 rounds through both the "10 round mag" and the "12 round" give or take a few, thinking it would come around after break in. Dangerous with the 8 round mag! and unreliable with the so called 12 that i can only 10 into. YOU DECIDE! I'll pack my 1911 to save my life.

i had problems feeding too so i disassembled my 24/7 mag and took wirecutters to cut off 2 coils off the factory spring and no prob after that. i assemble mags for s&w by the way and their springs are to long too.

I assume you have shot the gun by now. I shot my 24/7 this weekend for the first time with Amercian Eagle Ammo, and a mag of Corbon plus P and have to say it is a brilliant design and had no jams, as some have experienced here in the past. I prefer to shoot it over my glock. Thought I'd never say that!

I have owned my PT 24-7 40cal since 2006, I have put over 3000 rounds through it, all different brands, cheap ammo, expensive hollowpoints, shot shells, reloads, 155-200 grain bullets, not a single misfire, probably could have cleaned it more, sometimes 300 rounds in a day before cleaning, still no problems. However, recently, after shooting for 3 years, the mag fell out,"died in a gun battle" as my shooting buddy said. I made sure mag was in, made sure I wasnt pressing the release, still fell out. I have shot it a couple different times since and no issues ???? maybe a new mag catch will fix? Overall great gun, dropped it, thrown it(really), used it as a hammer, got it wet, didnt clean it, still cycles, shoots straight! [email protected] if you have questions or solution to my only issue. I think it helps prevent lip-lock if you keep the mag one round short of capacity ;)

What I have read from various forums is that the .40 and .45 of the 24/7 pro has been the ones that have had problems since the beginning. I have only seen 1 bad post on the 9mm with an otherwise flawless record. Cleaning your gun when you first get it AND keeping your gun clean after every shooting is the best option in flawless shooting. Otherwise, check when the gun was manufacturered. The newest ones, I believe, have had the bugs fixed.

I have the 24/7 pro .45 myself. I've only had time for 150 rounds through the gun, but I haven't had any issues with it as of yet.

I've had my 24/7 Duotone 45ACP since Nov."08" I've run about 250rds of American Eagle 230gr fmj and 230 gr gold dot fmj combined. I haven't had any issues as of yet. I cleaned it thoroughly using Synthetic Safe Gunscrubber when I first got it and lubed it with Militec-1 and also WeaponShield. Have not had the first issue and I hope it stays that way. I believe I have the 3rd generation mags which are the newest ones and that could be why I am not having any feeding issues. Like I said before I hope it stays that way

if you are one of the people having trouble with this weapon jamming, try changing your ammo

it made all the deifference for me

using remington sureshot 230gr i have had no misfires/misfeeds/jams in shooting over 150 rounds

with the cheapy monarch ammo i have had about 50% of the rounds jam

if you carry for defense or don't want to spend all your time ejecting jammed rounds at the range, then spend a little more cash and get some reliable rounds

a firm grip helps as well...you don't want to let the weapon recoil too high...some have noted that a 185gr ammo helps with recoil control
