For all you newbies I'd recommend either a nice revolver or a semi-auto with a grip safety (Springfield XD's or 1911's for the big boys). These Glock pistols are very good but be careful you don't shoot your leg off while carrying it in a IWB holster. They are better suited for hard case holsters. Just my 2 cents worth. Some experienced shooters love the Glocks and if they are cautious they will be fine, but only having a trigger safety creeps me out when tucked into my junk.

Another option, don't chamber a round when carrying. This makes the weapon very safe for CCW but be mindful it will require you charging the pistol before you engage an attacker. This only takes about 1 second but in a fight that might make a difference. A friend killed a
mugger in a gun fight. He was knocked off his bicycle late at night, hit the pavement, had the mugger jump on top of him and his bike, yet was still able to draw his pistol, wrack the slide, and send Mr. Mugger across the River Styx. But he said it was close, the guy was on him before he even hit the ground. A revolver would not present this dilemma......okay now all you anti-gunners can call me evil & depraved.....just wanted to offer some friendly advice.
