Of course, only the NRA would insist that gun manufacturers should get special rights to not get sued for their product.
Liar. NO company is responsible for the action or misuse of the operator. As long as the product acts as designed the no liability exists. Show ONE car company liable for drunk drivers, show one beer company responsible for drunk drivers, show one pencil company responsible for misspelled words, show one spoon company responsible for fat people. Show one internet provider responsible for your ignorant posts.

Gun makers are shielded by the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act - to let me know when you find the Lawful Commerce in Vehicles Act.

They are responsible for product use.

Do point us to the shield law used by automobile manufacturers or any other product you care to mention.

Wow...really...? Show me the last one that lost a lawsuit when nothing was wrong with the car...where everything operated as it was supposed to.

Not if their product is defective and causes injury.

"You are banging your head against your boyfriend's belt buckle too hard again."

You're still an ignorant, lying, POS, "frustrated control freak".

No their not. As with any product as long as it functions in it's intended manner then no liability exists.

Washington

Motor vehicle manufacturers can be sued in state court for installing only lap-type seat belts rather than lap-and-shoulder seat belts in the rear center seats in a minivan, the US Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday.

In a unanimous decision, the high court said federal safety regulations allowing vehicle manufacturers to choose which type of seat belt to install in rear center seats did not shield manufacturers from potential lawsuits filed on behalf of passengers injured while wearing the lap belts.

The action opens the way for a Utah family to sue Mazda Motor of America for fatal injuries from a lap-type seat belt in one of its minivans.

PS: I understand: guns are made to kill people so when people are killed, it isn't the gun manufacturers' fault.
