Kanye West attacks photographer at LAX; paramedics rush to the scene. Law enforcement sources, said cops are labeling the case a felony.

It would seem attacking a person for "following" is illegal.

Sean Penn is notorious for assaulting paparazzi. Most famously, during the 1986 shoot of Shanghai Surprise in Macao, China, allegedly dangled him from the room's ninth-floor balcony. He was charged with attempted murder but fled the country before he could be caught.

Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin has gotten physical with the paparazzi on more than one occasion. Once during a trip to Australia in 2003, he waited until a photographer who was following him took a break, and then he smashed his car's windshield and slashed his tires. Martin was arrested.

Hugh Grant has had numerous physical altercations with the paparazzi. In 2007, he was arrested for an attack in London, where he threw a container of baked beans at and kicked the videographer.

Gerard Butler was charged with misdemeanor criminal battery after punching a paparazzi several times and giving him a bloody lip. The photographer was supposedly trailing Butler's limo for hours and verbally harassing him.

Lamar Odom didn’t like his celebrity status anymore. That’s the only reason that could justify being angry about photographers following you and asking certain questions. The questions had to go like “how could you cheat on your infertile wife?“. It’s recently been reported that after the questions started coming in the basketball star snapped. He did a little thing like assault, theft, and destruction of property.

It's illegal to attack for being followed or even being asked questions that may piss you off.

Rapper 50 Cent hoped to spend his weekend in Copenhagen, Denmark peacefully. Too bad it didn’t happen that way.

While Danish paparazzi were waiting outside a hotel for 50 to come out, his bodyguard didn’t want them to take pictures of his boss.

After telling the photographers to leave and they didn’t, he decided to get violent and attacked them. He then broke into two of the photographers' cars after chasing them down the street, stole and broke their cameras, and attempted to beat them again.
Shortly after, the bodyguard was arrested for assault and theft. One of the attacked victims, Nikoloj Vraar, told the press Saturday:“I feared for my life. One of 50 Cent’s bodyguards came out and told us to leave. The next thing I knew, he grabs my throat and tried to strangle me. He cut off my airway, and I couldn’t breathe,” he added.“He took my camera and deleted photos.”

“The bodyguard was arrested,” said Vraar, who is editor-in-chief for MSN Star Lounge.

Shortly before the attack, the bodyguard said to the paparazzi,“Danish law doesn't apply to us here because we are Americans.”

I wonder if Trayvon told George "the law does not apply to me, because I'm a young black male".

Perceived lax gun laws will not save the crime-watch guy in he end. When the facts are revealed, he may be charged.
I am all-for castle doctrine and stand your ground. However in this case, it appears the self-styled crimewatch guy was following his suspect (and asking him questions), which does not make a case for 'stand your ground'. In most places, in order to be a self defence shooting, the shooter should NOT be a participant in causing the difficulty. Following somebody could easily be construed by most as participating in the problem.
Town watch/community watch is supposed to be heavy on the WATCH part. I think this guy has got his ass in a sling...and probably deserves it.
Hard to watch some one walking without following, DUH!!
Hard to ask question after being jumped and punched in the nose, DUH!!
You ever hear of Chicago, strict gun laws working out real well, only 70 shot in a weekend
other places no restrictive gun laws, no death, how can that be

The Black man is dead and a jury found the non Black man innocent.

I imagine you prefer Black on Black murder.

It sure does take that ol' plantation argument out of it.

NEW YORK – A rookie police officer shot and killed a 14-year-old boy on a street early Sunday after he refused to drop his gun and pointed it at them, authorities said.

Shaaliver Douse died of a single gunshot to his jaw after the confrontation in the Melrose section of the Bronx.

Two officers with the New York Police Department were on foot patrol when they heard gunfire at around 3 a.m. The officers responded to the scene and found the boy with a 9mm handgun firing shots at a fleeing man, authorities said.

The officers identified themselves as police and ordered him to drop his weapon, authorities said.

When he pointed his gun at them, one of the officers shot him, police said. Douse was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two officers had joined the department in January.

Douse had been in trouble with the law before.

He was charged in May with attempted murder after a 15-year-old boy was shot in a Bronx neighborhood where Douse lived. That shooting took place 2 miles from where Douse was later shot to death.

Douse was also charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing in connection to the incident.

The prosecution of Douse was then deferred, said Steven Reed, a spokesman for the Bronx District Attorney's Office. The office had insufficient evidence to proceed, and the victim was unable to identify his shooter, he said.

The case was still open, Reed said.

It is against the law to have an unregistered gun in New York. It is against the law for minors to have guns. It is against the law to fire a gun on the street in New York. Maybe if New York makes more anti gun laws? Never mind. Let's go scream that young boys are innocent little babies and should get away with their criminal actions.
