Correct........

But none of the tins were open and they would not let me open it......

One of the guys had a FN fal and they had a few model 91 H&K but no ammo for them or I would have showed them

It took me years and close to 10k to get a permit to carry. Part of the problem that larger than 9mm is a separate permit and usually not issued to a gringo
But I was able to purchase a H&Kn p7-m10 that I paid three times for but did not want a block and could not find a commander small frame 45.

If you go north up near Hermosillo out in the desert you can buy cases of guns still wrapped in paper and cosmoline .

There are also lots of a homemade gun that looks and fires like a Sten from a open bolt.
With no moving firing pin it is a very simple trigger assembly. I have seen them chambered in 22 long rifle cal to 5.56 from 9mm to 45 acp

They are all fully auto but releasing the trigger does stop the firing.....

The barrels are machined out of old axels and the trigger assembly from car door locks.

A lot of the cops are carrying the 5.56 as it is a very cheap pistole that will penetrate a vest.....And uses the standard m-16 clip.

If someone wanted to buy a thousand of these I would bet they would be less than 200 dollars each.....

But I have no desire to mess with them.......
Leave it to the guys hauling crack and meth north.....

There was one of these confiscated a few months ago in the So Cal area....I saw it on KTLA. As soon as I saw the picture I new what it was....

Suggestion: Buy a clone Sten and get thee to a shade tree gunsmith and have them re-work the trigger mech for more reliability..... Barring that return Norte and leave Mexico behind. While it isn't all sweetness and nice here it IS better than the questionable ability of the Mexican National Police's ability to protect folks. Depending of course on the Police in your area, and their determination to guard a viable resource...... Tourists....

Obama has done more for gun sales recently than the NRA ever could. Gun sales have increased dramatically and when the demand goes up so does the price, maybe that's Obamas way of finally doing something positive for our economy.

<quoted text>The big suggestion now is too not to buy ammo..... Let stocks get built back up and crap settle down. If you ain't got it by now you probably don't need it. The debate/arguements will go on but right now,we in the gun community need to be a little more restrained and curb this momentary impulse to empty the shelves. Its counterproductive and feeds the left's vitriol about "gun nuts" crap. We don't need to accept a low profile, but neither do we need to give the antis ammo(so to speak)....... Push back, counter their propaganda with fact. Their agenda is weak as is their reasoning for gun control. ALL they know is what their handlers tell them to repeat for public consumption. What they fail to realize is that sheep are often dinner for the wolves. And right now their Idols are licking their chops.

The Republicans are pressing to avoid an economical collapse. Obama is promoting it. Let the Democrats take control over the entire country like they did when they were voted out of power in 2010. Politics is like substance abuse. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you take any corrective action.

Why do we need a debt ceiling increase? Did you ever ask yourself that?

Maybe because thanks to DumBama, we have a record amount of people in poverty. Thanks to DumBama, businesses are not hiring due to Commie Care. Because of DumBama, tobacco users are now pouring their money into increased taxes instead of circulating that money back into the economy. Because of DumBama, cell phone users are paying more for services than they were before the dictator took office. Again, less residual income circulating in our society. Because of DumBama, banks are forced to start charging fees for checking accounts. Again, less money circulating in our economy. Because of DumBama, credit card companies no longer offer 0% interest and no transfer fees. More money out of our economy. Because of DumBama, our weakened dollar is increasing the price of food and fuel such as gasoline.

We can't afford DumBama, and his spending has sent this country into an eddy that the Republican Congress just can't stop. They won't even consider cuts for NPR, The Arts, Planned Parenthood or PBS.

I'm no expert, but somebody told me that reloads are more likely to jam than new ammo. Again, I don't know if it's true or not.
The ammo I was referring to jamming was factory reloads. They were given to me to try out by a friend who worked at a gun store. So luckily, I didn't waste my own money.

I don't reload so I can't verify what you were told. But I am starting to think about the possibility since ammo is getting so scarce. I have a few friends that reload their own.

I can't remember the last time I bought factory ammo. Well except 22LR.

Did YOU..."Sante Fe Spammer"...?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a Sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies....Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that 'the buck stops here'. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and Grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."

Take a hike you racist POS...the Democrats did that with the "Jim Crow" laws after the Civil War. That's how we got the 14th Amendment.

Over 50 percent of Americans view the GOP negatively, while only 20 percent view the party positively. The Republicans face the possibility of a wave election that breaks like a tsunami washing over their gerrymandered Tea Party House majority. While Republicans still hold the House majority, they lost seats in the 2012 election and acknowledge that they held onto the majority only because of gerrymandering. Majorities of Republican voters reject key proponents of the GOP agenda, including cuts to Social Security and Medicare. In fact, 63 percent of GOP voters say the congressional GOP is out of touch the GOP is done for!
We need cuts to social programs. Liberals are like a teen with a credit card. They’re not out of money until they reach the credit limit. Then they want a limit increase. Eventually that money must be repaid. What are your plans for that?
