Who ever wrote that article needs to brush up on their facts. Your better off getting your news from theonion.com than reading the free press

This only shows the fallacy of the FOID act. The act has nothing to do with firearm violence or safety, it is just a revenue stream for Illinois. A tax, plain and simple.
Common sense dictates that if a victim has a firearm, it should be treated as any other property. You secure the victims property.
CCW has nothing to do with this. How has the firearms of victims been taken care of in the past? Hunters on way or on way back from hunting area has a traffic accident, did the firearm just get left?
It's not rocket science, apply common sense.

"The Right of the People to Keep and Bear Arms shall NOT be infringed."

THAT is the ONLY 'permit' We The people of the United States require to carry openly or concealed. Anything else is in plain violation of our Constitutionally SECURED right.

If Illinois wants to show everyone that the FOID is not just a revenue stream issue all first responders FOID cards free of charge. Problem solved! The first responders can then handle the firearms.

What a crock, but then again some numb skulled cop would make an issue of a first responder handling a patient's firearm. Kind of like the CHP who hooked up the firefighter for using his rig to protect the workers. That fireman committed the worst crime a cop can be faced with - Contempt of Cop.

Does anyone know what the first responders did before the change and they came across someone carrying an "illegal" gun? I would think that would have happened a time or two considering this is Illinois and specifically Chicago...

Am wondering if these "first responders",(as well all those in government), remember that they are nothing more than our hired servants? The safety of their MASTERS comes well ahead of that of the servants.

I am a first responder, and I am nobody's servant. Good luck pal. You can bleed to death before I follow your commands....especially if you have a weapon. My safety first. Always.:)

You can always move somewhere else if you do not like America. Plenty of Socialist nations out there for you to choose from.
