Gary Brown: Can golf survive what John Daly is doing to the game?

Professional golfer John Daly is bad for golf. WI don't say that because of the personal demons he seems to be fighting.

To Gary - you are the one who is bad for golf. Who made you an authority on how to dress? Daly is down, why kick him in the teeth? The tie you are wearing in the picture ain't exactly the prettiest or most masculine thing I ever saw. Who taught you how to dress? Leave Daly alone.

You have to be kidding.Golfers love Daly.He is the average Joe to us,lots of faults,don't we all.Leave the guy alone and let him try and make a living.Com pared to some of the other sports and the people going to jail for felonies,Daly is a fuzzy bear.

Should we also point out that the guy in second place starting out yesterday's final round at the Buick had a 10 as well? What the heck does Daly carding a 10 on a hole have to do with what he does "to" golf? When we all see your name at the top of the leaderboard on a Sunday, we will take you seriously. Until then, keep shooting 90 plus.

Let me tell you what has and continues to destroy golf. Drunken, boisterous, unruly, obscene 20 somethings who have made certain par-3's their private drunken frat parties. When combined with the mentally dysfunctional a-holes constantly yelling "go in the hole" so their friends back home can hear them, they reduce what was once a polite and respectful game into a nightmare of noise and disrespect.

Unfortunately, the PGA, and the NBC and CBS announcers promote this anti-social behavior by praising it, interviewing the cretins responsible for it, and making light of it. It's despicable, desultory, and demeaning to the game and the players. Pathetic!
