If a guy who was ranked 150th, and did the same thing, we would not even be talking about this.
It just seems every time a top golfer, either tour, gets disqualified you always hear complaints about the rules being silly etc etc, but, the rules never change. That is one of the main things I like about golf---Rules-rules and rules to keep the playing field even. Not so much in other sports. But you never see a push for the silly rules, in golf, to be revised -- changed or eliminated. The players complain but next week it is forgotten about.
