TIGER CHEERLEADERS! Who is the REAL KING of wining Majors? Tiger Woods or Roger Federer? Tiger won his first major in 1997 at the Masters at the age of 21. He is now age 33 with 14 majors and is 4 shy of the all time PGA record of 18. Roger won his first major in 2003 at Wimbledon also at the age of 21. He is now age 27 with 13 majors and is 1 major shy of the all time ATP majors record of 14. Considering that Roger won his first major 6 years and 25 majors after Tiger won his first, is there any doubt who is the REAL KING when it comes to wining majors? In 2009 watch Tiger try to win the U.S. Open for the 2nd year in a row. Afterwards, watch Tiger in New York watching Roger Federer try to win the U.S. Open for a record 6th year in a row and don't forget to bring your POM POMS!

Not taking anything away from Federer, he is certainly the best tennis player of his generation. But a tennis career only lasts a few years while a golf career spans decades. Roger only has 2 or 3 good years left, at most, while Tiger can play for another 30 or 40 years. Tiger will be winning trophies long after Federer has been reduced to a memory. When the dust settles and both careers are over, the numbers, tournament wins as well as prize money earned, will tell the tale. |

Yes Golfers have a longer career than tennis players and Poker players have a longer career than golfers! What does that tell you about the sport of tennis?

What about Sue Snyder. A 7-time national horseshoe champion. If they are the kings, then she is respectfully the queen.

It tells me nothing. Poker is not a sport. |
|||
|
Poker is as much as a sport as Golf is and furthermore, there is a BIGGER FIELD than Golf. If you have a pulse you can play poker or golf. That's not true with tennis where you need to move and hit something that is also moving.

the announcer who asked Tiger that question is David Faherity and he was a European PGA member who played several times for Europe in the Ryder Cup. Actually, he said to Tiger that the younger players feel like losers because they didn't win the tournament and then he said in a rather joking tone of voice "Do you feel like a loser, because you didn't win?" Tiger replied "I am a loser, I didn't win". Not quite the same as you phrased it, is it?

he was joking, being sarcastic, thats why tiger laughed but think of it how you wish |

As Preston2 pointed out, golf IS a sport, poker is not. It's a game, not a sport. And why have you come to a golf forum to discuss tennis, anyway? Isn't that a bit like apples and oranges? |

TIGER CHEERLEADERS - You don't have to put down your TIGER POM POMS, but at least accept THE TRUTH! Tiger won his first major in 1997 at the Masters which was the first major of the year at the age of 21. Since then, there have been 49 PGA Majors since Tiger won his first and he has won 14 of them 14/49 Majors is a wining percentage of 28.5% Good! He is now 4 majors shy of the all time PGA record of 18. Roger Federer won his first major in 2003 at Wimbledon which was the 3rd major of the year also at the age of 21. Since then there have been 23 ATP Majors and Roger has won 13 of them 13/23 Majors is a wining percentage of 56.5% AWESOME! He is now 1 major shy of the all time ATP Majors record of 14 which Pete Sampras set when he was age 32.(Remember Roger is only age 27)! Finally TIGER CHEERLEADERS! in 2009 watch Tiger try to win the U.S. Open for the 2nd year in a row. Afterwards, watch Tiger in New York watching Roger Federer try to win the U.S. Open for a record 6th year in a row! Now even Tiger Cheerleaders need to give that a PEP-RALLY!-- I KNOW, I KNOW some of you CHEERLEADERS are gonna say Golf is harder than tennis right! That's why SWIMSUIT MODELS like John Daly can win Majors on the PGA Tour! Guys like that couldn't even be a ball boy on the ATP Tour! Finally, Just look at Phil Mickelson and Tennis Rafael Nadel which are both lefties. Now You CHEERLEADERS tell me who looks like the ATHLETE in there MALE MOJO PRIME and who looks like the local MAIL MAN who eats at HOMETOWN BUFFET? Finally, TIGER CHEERLEADERS if you have a bad round of Tennis on the ATP Tour unlike golf, your GOING HOME and carrying your own BAGS! and am not talking about the ones around your waist! You have been educated by THE TRUTH!

I'm going to try this again. Why have you come to a golf forum to discuss tennis? |
