What I find commendable in Tiger is his constant striving for excellence, no matter what kind of lead he holds over a foe or the field. It may appear he shows no mercy in lapping the competition, but in fact, he only tries to improve upon the course and himself.

I also love Tiger's commitment to youth, particularly through his academy. As I mentioned elsewhere, while Lebron seems primarily concerned with what's on kids' feet, Tiger is instead concerned about what's in kids' minds.

Why doesn't the black community embrace Tiger the way it does LeBron? Am I wrong about that?

A Tiger grand slam looks entirely plausible this summer. And, you know, should Tiger break every record and retire, it still won't end. Then there'll be daughter Sam!

The answer is quite simple. Golf is still the white man's game while Basketball is now the black man's game. Blacks can not relate to Tiger & Golf. They never play the sport. They don't belong to the country clubs. They can't afford the equipment & clothes. There are very few golf courses in the inner cities. Meanwhile, they play basketball all the time from morning till night and into it. They go play in the city parks' courts and city YMCAs. Basketballs & shorts don't cost very much.
Agreed. But, if true, they have a narrow view. I'm looking beyond the sports and at the comparative examples being set by these two successful black men. Feed young minds and your building a nation's future, put Nikes on young feet, and you're asking for a mugging.

Daily Horoscope for December 17

Leo

If you're going to a festive party or gathering today you'll have a great time. It will be good to see some old faces and nice to meet some new ones. Don't be shy about breaking the ice if you spot someone you'd like to know better, as with Mars in your sign dancing with Venus in fiery Sagittarius, bells will ring and fires light up. Get the last of those Christmas cards out of the way now, so they're not on your conscience.
