its too late for Wie, she wasted her chance to be the great golfer the media had her hyped up to be, she should have continued at golf like most young good golfers do when they have that power of golf at start of their careers, now she gave all that up and will just be a average golfer now..too bad, maybe she should just give it up and do what ever she went to college for...She could have gotten her college degree later if she really needed it.

Well, because of Golf she was able to follow her dream of attending Stanford. You think she should have followed the path that the news media, and her parents, set out for her or follow her dreams?? If more young people were to follow there dreams rather than what is the 'norm' or influence of other people I think the world would be better of. Now she has two choices, both dreams of hers, to follow. Not to shabby.

I agree with Rich completely. This was the first real adult decision she made on her own. Just being able to get into Stanford is an honor, to pass up the collegiate experience would have been silly. Just suppose she never does make a huge splash as a player, having a degree from Stanford as a backup plan isn't bad at all. I just wish her the best no matter what she does, she's a classy young woman.

Thanks Gene. Let me add that in her early days she was not a classy woman. She pulled/made some lousy, below the belt, decisions. By going to Stanford she has changed and now is a classy woman. Now, if her golf game would come back then all would be right with world, at least for her 'rabid' fans.

How are things looking now, three years later? Her back-up plan: If she is not playing well, she is going to have an "injury" and withdraw!
