Where are the Wie haters now??? This girl is now LEGIT! Even if she never won an event this year, she would still have been considered one of the best in the world. But now, it is CONFIRMED!

She's top 20 on the money list, earning close to 1 million dollars in winnings alone. Tack on to that another 10 million or so she gets from endorsements. Top this all off by the fact that this young lady is getting a world-class education at Stanford, and, I'd say, that she's doing quite well at 20 years of age!

Nike has stuck with her through thick and thin, and now Wie has rewarded them with a big win!! You go girl!!

What is sad is the real star of the year Jiyai Shin gets no credit, she is now the Rookie of the year blowing away the compition, and is the leading contender for player of the year as well as money leader. She has endured far more than MW this year with the passing of her parent, she is also attending school working towards her degree, playing golf all over the world and never once an excuse comes from her.She is a true LPGA star without the Hype. With all the first time winners on the LPGA this year it is no surprise it took MW this long to win, there is a lot of talent on the LPGA which makes Jiyai, and Lorena's multiple wins even more impressive.

Wie was always a winner! I'm a new golfer and know how hard it is to hit a ball long and straight. According to a an article I read, hitting a golf ball straight and far is the most difficult thing to do in sports

Hey, Willie, try hitting Joba Chamberlains fast ball, or skating down an NHL Ice Rink at say 30 MPH, and nail a slap shot by Chris Osgood, and tell us about how tough hitting a fricking golf ball straight is...

Big time winners are Nike and Omega.
That bunker shot @ 18 with the ball rolling one foot of the hole showed the Nike Logo as it came to rest..
After all they endured waiting, this will mean millions in future advertising and promotion of their brand.
Now Sony who dropped Wie can redeem themselves by sponsoring an LPGA event in 2010. Hawaii needs a major LPGA event and this could be the Sony Open for Women.
The LPGA is the ultimate winner from Michelle's victory. Sponsorships for tournaments will surely happen thanks to Michelle.

Aloha:

Yes, Michelle Wie blasted her way out of that 18th hole sandtrap like the pro she is. She won tourney, and she will win again.

Remember, she is only 20. She hits the ball a country mile (matching many of the professional men) and she is now ranked 12th among professional women golfers in the world, fourth among American women golfers.

And don't forget, this is her rookie season, her first year in the LPGA

Michelle has played in only 18 events this year, has often finished in the running. She has eight top 10 finishes and five in the top 3, including two times as runner-up. She is 14th on the LPGA Tour money list with more than $900,000 in less than a year.

She deserves our support, our congratulations, our admiration. And she is still keeping up with her classes at Stanford.

Personally, I'm proud to have been one of her elementary school teachers. We think she makes all Hawai`i proud. She's our champion, right up there with Clay, Victorino, Agbayani, Kuhaulua, and a handful of others who are in a class all their own.

Me ka pono,

Keith Haugen

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Gemini

It's easy to become distracted and confused because your mind is wandering about in all sorts of different directions. You're also in a highly impressionable state so will believe almost anything you're told now, whether it's true or a total flight of fancy. Be wary of muddling others by only telling them half the story or letting your imagination fill in any gaps.
