1 Ticket sales alone for the Gophers' football game Oct. 3 against Wisconsin at TCF Bank Stadium, the Twins' final regular-season Metrodome game Oct. 4 against Kansas City, the Monday night Vikings game Oct. 5 against the Packers at the Dome, and the Wild's home opener against Anaheim on Oct. 6 at Xcel Energy Center could produce revenue of nearly $7 million. All games are expected to be sellouts. And that's not counting parking and concession revenue. There also is the possibility of the Twins reaching the playoffs the second week in October, which would generate an additional $1.5 million. ********** So big deal, local sports franchises take their fans to the cleaners all in the same week, isn't that great? Perhaps $8.5 million is being sucked out of the local economy with most of it going to players' salaries, owners' bank accounts or the bogus U athletic department. We should be sooo happy. |

Wally the beerman, a true class act for the Twins organization.
Hope they put him in the new stadium selling the beers. Judging by this teams lack of deisre to spend money, he might be the only attraction. |
