I never want to buy Nike products, because they are using consumers' money to pay a loser like Wie

Plus they cost (nike) an arm and a leg made by kids getting 10cents an hour.

What have you done to be called "Rich" Bannon?
I'll bite your leg if you keep being so cruel to another human being unfortunate to have sustained
an injury, but good or bad play still draws people
to PAY to witness LPGA golf and sponsors grateful that she accepts and shows up in spite of abusive remarks forthcoming.

And who are you that calls yourself 'bow wow'. I'm sure myour not a rap artist so you must be a 'dog'. What she should have done was to take a break from golf as soon as she hurt her wrist instead of trying to play through it. Also, she was going through a swing change also. Her golf game is a wreck and embarrasing. But you know what--None of her entourage stopped her from playing--they wanted the money, I guess. Also, if you had read any of my previous posts you would know that I think she can rule the LPGA when she gets her act together. I think the best thing for her right know is to take her freshman year off and and then decide what 'she' wants to do, not her parents. Oh, bow wow--surfs up

I guess putting puts a lot of stress on her injures.
Is this her excuse ?
Poor woman.
Why doesn't she admits that she is not as good as she looks.
You don't win just by looks, ask Natalie Gulbis.
Plain and simple

Your the Looooooser Joe, because you sit there smugly behind the keyboard and critisize someone who has accomplished so much in her life already at 17, while you yourself accomplished sh*t/

What has she accomplished???? She has one one tournament, when she was 14 i think. When a person is a pro the only accomplishment is winning, period! The only thing she has accomplished so far is hoodwinking Nike into a large contract. As I heve said before, she has the potential to rule the LPGA if she would 'get her act together'. She acts like---hey I got my money so what???

Professional also constitutes the amount of revenue that can be generated and not just by winning.

You don't know her so how can you say that she doesn't care??
She would much rather go on with her college life than deal with people like you labelling her all kinds of names...just because she got injured!!

Nike got a hell of a lot of exposure from her...believe me!!
As did the LPGA which translated inot far larger purses than 5 or so years ago...All generated by Michelle...how quickly you are to forget and condemn...

MBK, those five years you talk about coincided with the rise of several other wonderfully gifted female golfers and the demise of a few who burned out early. It would have been, and maybe still will be, great to see her compete with her young gun contemperaries.

You cannot show were Wie had anything to do with the purse increases. Mike has it right. The only thing Wie did for the PGA was increase the Thurs./Fri. attendance. Regarding college---I have always said she needs to take her first year off(from golf) and enjoy her first year of college. Then, get her act together and come back with a vengance. If you have read any past comments you will find that I and others have always said she will rule the LPGA. We just disagree with how she is doing it. Of course if I was a friend of hers like you then maybe I would have a different opinion. But, what she is doing currently is not working!!!

Michelle Wie never increased viewership or increased sponsorship money!?!?
Have you been living in a CAVE or something??

Well, I don't give Wie that much credit for the increases in the purses. In the last 5 years credit has to go to Anika and lately all the new girls, especially the winners. Although Wie has inceased the attendance at the tournaments, especially on thurs. and fri. in the PGA. There really isn't anything else to say about Wie. Until she gets her act together she will always receive negative press, not only at this site but from reporters and, even, golfers in the LPGA and the PGA. She turns 18 real soon and will have legal control over her life. As I and others have said this year she should dump(fire) her entourage, including her parents, enjoy college for at least a year, then come back(if she wants) with a vengence and rule, like I think, as others do, the LPGA. thats all, nothing more to say until we see how she plays this week. I was thinking of going but can't get out of some commitments even though I am retired.

Rich, I sm tired and don't really have much more to say myself. I just can't stand the fact that so many people are crapping on this poor little girl who just happened to be talented at golf and unfortunately succumbed to injury.

So many are so quick to condemn. It just lacks class, lacking the same type of class that everyone is trying to say Michelle should have by withdrawing. No-one is extending any class towards her and she is fighting for her career.

My only hope is that Michelle comes back in full force.

BTW Rich, I don't like getting caught up in the heated debate and make comments like I did about you being in a cave or whatnot, so I apologize. You have a right to post your opinion...

Hey, no problem. I enjoy heated discussions with different points of view. Even though I do not live in the U S right now I am a U S citizen and that is what America is about. Nothing was taken personally. Until next time----have an interesting weekend.

The injuries are unfortunate and perhaps she will come back to play competitively again. Until that times is here though she should bow away from events unless she and qualified people (not parents) determin her level of play has returned. We (the public) don't want to see her playing like she has and she needs to realize it's the public who is watching her make a fool of herself. In order to keep sponsors she need to play at certain levels which she is not doing and should she continue to do so, will lose them. Do the right thing Michelle, bow out for now.

Wie will never be any good. she is just a spoiled brat that thinks she can play golf. She thinks she is good enough to play against the top men on the PGA, and she can't even play on the LPGA. Nike you really picked a winner this time. That's why I would never buy anything Nike puts out.
