A common golf swing fault is to "slice" the golf ball. For right handed golfers, a golf slice occurs when the golf ball starts left of the target once struck, but finishes well right of the target. The slice is one of the worse swing faults encountered on the course because it often results in a very poor position to hit the next shot and because there are many causes to the golf slice. Common causes of the golf slice include an open club face at impact, too "weak" of a golf grip, poor body weight transfer and/or an out-to-in or "over the top" swing.

Concentrate in making your hands relaxed throughout the impact allowing your club to realize forward first then a cross your body.

It is important to have a good, balanced set up as you stand next to the golf ball. In general, your feet should be shoulder width apart, and your balance should be about 50-50 between your right and left foot, and the weight should be right behind the balls of your feet. You should be bent at the hips about 25 to 30 degrees, and you should keep your back as straight as possible. Your arms should hang directly underneath your shoulders and you should have your knees flexed, and turned in toward each other. One of the best set ups in golf is that of Adam Scott.

This is what causes torque and leverage in the golf swing, and it then also helps to create lag, which is what leads to increased swing speed. The ideal golf stance should be about the width of your shoulders. Your shoulders need to be parallel to your target line. Your feet should be parallel to your target line as well and ideally be pointing at a slight angle at address. Your arms should hang naturally, knees slightly bent and your back straight and not hunched over.

Practice this proper golf stance in the mirror until you get it right. Even slight changes to your stance can have major effects on the outcome of your golf shots with diablo edge irons. The main thing is, it should be as comfortable as possible.
