In related news, Gay rights organizations in the USA called their representatives in Congress and told them to stop sending fascists in Georgia 5 billion dollars per year of our money.

If Georgia wants to deny freedom of petition, protest, assembly, public speech, and association, then they sink or swim against Russia on their own.

But if we don't send them money, how are they going to be able to hold that big parade for their favorite son, Uncle Joe Stalin ?!

These beggars already get $4 billion per year from their master USA. Nation of lapdogs. Ran to the Russian lap for 200 years to be saved from Turks and now they run to US lap to be saved from Russians.

Back off, loser, just the fact that some people are shouting, it does not mean that all Geogians violate gay rights.

How funny. The church defines its own version of sin. The church is the entity that fuels the indignation. The church would undoubtedly organize any unrest.
And it blames a parade.

Which Athiests on this site actively participated in Russian Genocide?

Choosing not to believe in God is not the same as supporting mass murder, and more than believeing in God means you supported the murders and forced conversions of Native peoples, or the Inquisition.

True, but combined with the extralegal police attack on Georgia's only LGBT organization on 9 December 2009 (Georgian Inclusive Foundation), as well as the comments of your horrid equal rights commissioner, it points towards serious problems for Georgia.

The overall picture of Gay rights in Georgia is VERY bad. And it isn't just the violence promoters who head up the Georgian Orthodox "church".

Be careful Georgia, as you are one more police attack, denied parade/bar permit, or statement by some homophobic cabinet minister towards piss'g off those 'liberals' in the West that keep you independent. Choose wisely. Or start speaking Russian again.

I am human rights activist and I am fighting for their rights as well, so we have a common cause about that. The problem is that some uncivilised people still can not understand the values of equality, but I am confident that sooner or later we will achieve equal rights for all kind of people.

I understand that there ARE a few Georgians who stand up for the rights of all Georgians. However, Georgia appears moving in wrong direction. I'd like to think of Georgia as the 'better nation' in the Caucuses. But I will oppose any funding or support of nations that attack Gay people like the Georgian Police did, that have human rights commissioners that refuse to support human rights, or who bestow new rights on a 'church' that appears to TACITLY ENDORSE VIOLENCE against peaceful protesters.

Right now, I don't see much difference between Russia and Georgia.

Georgia can join Europe and civilization. But it can't bring along its' bigoted baggage. I and millions of others will make damn sure that Georgia's current leaderships' attempt to portray itself as civilized and free while it abuses its Gay population will be called out.

To those protecting gay rights. I am ordinary Georgian citizen. I can say for sure that the great majority of Georgians strictly condemn gays, lesbians and others like them. We compare them to animals for if you know just a little biology then you should know that sodomy is charasteristic for animals and if we do not want to be like animals and simply do not come to pieces then we must abstain from this sin, the sin which is against nature and GOD

We must protect rights of animals but when a humane being mecomes animal his rights cannot be protected, on the contrary he or she must be immediately removed from the society not to deprave others especially children and not to stray people from the GOD

You be carefull talking this nonsense. Before starting talking one should know history better. We georgians have never spoken russian though we know this language very well and are proud to know it. The problem with your so called democracy is that you do not know what the democracy is atv all. As for the protection of gay rights only one thing can be talled about it: THEY MUST BE IMMEDIATELY REMOVED FROM OUR SOCIETY to prevent them deprave children and stray people from GOD. Protection of depraved people is not democracy the more so as sodomy is characteristic only for animals and people practising it are typical animals and they have nothing to do with humane beings

Fine then start learning Russian. Because we find your attitude more repugnant than you find Gays. So don't come crawling to us for subsidies when you offend all of civilized society. And right now. Georgia doesn't qualify as civilized.
