What hypocrites are they that they want to bring in legislation against gambling and the same time make sure they get their cut....all hypocrites..

W.A. seems to be going quite well WITHOUT revenue generated by poker machines. What is a problem gambler? In my opinion, only those people gambling with money that is surplus to their day to day living requirements, are NOT problem gamblers.Anyone diverting money from their day to day living expenses is thus a problem gambler. This begs the question...why play at all if you already have more than you need? To win more that you don`t need? Why not support a charity like world vision inswtead.

Another example of the government collecting revenue from something which has been identified as a detriment to society, if there was no profit margin in this for the government then perhaps there would be greater transparency on the subject.

I wonder how many gamblers are, as you say, diverting money from their day to day living expenses, in order to gamble? I think it is very sad that people develop an addiction to gambling and I wonder just how effective anti-gambling legislation would prove to be - it doesn't address the addiction, just places some limitations on the activity.
