Laughlin was at it's worst in 2007. We won't be back again.

I've been coming to this rally for the last 12 years running. It's hit an all time low as far as attendance and fun. Anybody who used to come to it knows what I'm talking about.

I'm not somebody who has a problem with the police, having been one and having family still in the service. But being told to move everytime I stopped on the sidewalk to look at a passing bike just blows. There were more cops than bikers on the sidewalks on Friday night. The once proud strip where you would basically "Flintstone" your way down the strip on Friday and Saturday night was sparsely populated with a few bikes, but more cars and you guessed it....police. Still has great weather down in NV and AZ this time of year, but if you're looking for a good time or a party, go elsewhere. We headed up to Vegas on Saturday and had a much better time than we did in Laughlin. It used to be my favorite bike run of the year. Now it's at the very bottom of my list.

Essentially, they just want you to come to town, pay 10x the normal rate at a 3 night minimum and then lose all your money at the casinos. Then leave. Don't party, don't make noise.

I could keep bitchin', but it doesn't accomplish much. I knew they'd react strongly after the 2002 shooting incident at Harrahs. Obviously, I knew there'd be a strong police pressence and I'm personally fine with the fact that the colors aren't present anymore. But people pay a lot of money and travel a long way to have a good time.

No cruising, no hanging on the sidewalks and not a single titty! Adios, Laughlin.

Thanks for the memories

I agree with last post completely been going for 6 years, wont go back I saw a bike get pulled over for reving his motor and ticketed. The cops telling you to keep it moving while walking down the strip was crazy.

Thanks for the update...I wanted to go, but now I'm glad I didn't. It sounds like the town grumpys have a choke hold on the scene there. Too bad. The word is a very strong thing to overcome, and if the word is not so good...it will get around quickly.
Try bike week in Las Vegas later in year?

i live in bullhead city, you are so right. i don't go there. the cops have ruined the run, and my friends who come to see me won't come back for the run anymore. any other state has area's that you can camp at for free. biking is more that a hotel room at high prices. sorry guys that this run has made my town look bad. however just south of laughlin is lake havesau<sp. it has the screw laughlin run going at the same time. hope to see ya there

i stand corrected, i do wish the cops in laughlin were a little easier on there laws and relax. i have no idea what the cops want because the riders bring in a hell of a lot of money to the area. the room rates are out of site, and the locals ( not all) dont like the bikes here. too bad

if your scared to come to laughlin then stay home. jack daniels. this is the only run in the nation that some laws are not bent a little to make these bikers feel welcome. they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars, and the cops just want to throw them in jail for stupid crap. keep bringing up harrahs, that was several years ago, and people like you have to warn everyone of the dangers of coming here. stay home

I have been riding for oer 45 years and have been all over the country. Laughlin is a WannaBie Run for many that have never rode anyplace. That is Good because you have to start someplace. We quit going to Laughlin when they started ripping the Bikers Off for Rooms and such, Screw laughlin. I now live in Bullhead City but I do not go to the Laughling Run at all.

you are so correct oil gordon, there is no free camping for the riders coming in, the rooms are so high in cost that no one that is a real rider can afford, and the cops. well they get to bring out there new cop toys and play with them. i too live in bullhead and i was over there for about one hour and came back home. it wasnt the bikes that cluttered up the street it was cars, cops, and more cops. as far as calling it a run, well go to other runs and see how much fun bikers do have all over the country. not here. it is more like a beef jerky sale, jerky booths are everywhere. and t-shirts are way too high. anyway guys like jack daniels in here keep the fear of the past alive, and praise the cops for the dangers they deal with.
