I know, or used to "run with" , their once Tribal Chief Jerry Jackson. He was always a solid friend. When he pledged his allegiance to you as a friend he wasn't joking.

We went to NSU for several years. I know Jerry tried quite hard to get the federal gov't and state gov't to acknowledge them as a true Indian Tribe so they could build their "dream".

Often times I sorta day dream about what it was like back in the days when men truly lived off the land. Hunted, fished, trapped, lived in tents, cabins, cooked off an open fire, etc.

I know this sounds funny but I too wonder what they did when they got sick. Like a bad headache.

They chewed willow bark, which contains salicylic acid...similar to aspirin.

I wish the Native Americans of today would concentrate on doing something more productive, like researching the natural remedies their ancestors used and helping us to use them effectively today, instead of promoting gambling, which does no one any good.

its not the white men todays fault just like slavery they shouldnt get the blame for what happened along time ago. today we are treated as equals so get over it the pass is the pass and thats where it should stay.they just want something to complain about so the government can support them and they dont have to work like a real man

im glad they are building a casino here to and that they got their dream but its how are they gonna treat their profits? like all other casinos around here or will they actualy be different? like give more playback is the most important to most of the real casino players.not the amenities.

In my opinion we owe the Indians nothing... we just so happened to be smarter than them. we did not steal their land, we just claimed it first. It is ridiculous how much money the Indians get for their casinos and us white people have to work for our money!!! Creola Does not need a bunch of Indians out there!!!

It is my opinion that "personally" is an ignorant, porch sitting, banjo picking, white trash hick. The naitive americans were here hundreds of years before the white man arrived. Just how can we claim land first that is already possessed by the native americans? How arrogant can we be?
What Grant Parish doesn't need is more ignorant, un-educated rednecks that stand in the foreground and give other parishes the impression that we are as stupid as you are.

You probably are racist and you certainly can't spell. No one was using that parcel of land anyway. Why not have some tax revenue. It is pathetic when most of the parish's tax base is from individuals and not businesses. Frankly, I welcome some tax burden relief. You probably don't care because you probably don't work and have to pay any taxes. My guess is that you're on the "government tit" and don't have a clue what shape this parish is really in.

I'll just happy to ride my bicycle down to the casino instead of driving an hour anywhere else.

Gambling is against the Bible and that a problem for many.

Additionally I wish the Casinos would get up off of it and be a bit more accomodating by allowing the public to win more.

If any of you have seen the computer whizzes explain just how they've got the games rigged to payoff just so often then the Casino would be empty, that is, if the people playing knew how the odds were against them.

with obama trying to act like president there's going to be quite a few million sitting on porches. he's already destroyed so much of what used to work for this country. i don't even think he's an actual citizen. too many researchers/incredibly interesting factual evidence about his being born somewhere else.

i wish JESUS would come back tonight.
