Oh yeah...more social engineering. That's JUST what we need. Yeah, that whole "independence" thing...what a complete bore, right? At least that's what your government-paid teachers told you!
What a complete tool.
If we had a truly free market economy -- as we did for generations before the "progressives" began their slow march to dominance 100 years ago -- we wouldn't have most of the major problems we're experiencing right now.
Ah yes. The glory days. Child labor. Sweatshops. The Triangle Shirtwaist fire. Company goons killing union members. No food safety laws at all. Jim Crow laws. The glories of free market capitalism.

"Tyranny and losing our freedom" to freeze our hands off making a buck a day and die with no medical care.

But the Dispatch is fighting back for the rights of the Robber Barons. Don't you worry.

Really? I could have sworn you were taught in college how to succeed and make money to support your family in college. I must have not been paying attention. Right now jobs are tough to come by, and if a kid with a degree in communications comes out of school and there is nothing available for him, why not get a job where he can make decent money until he is able to find something in his field? It's not like they are going door to door making money off of people, the people are coming to them. If someone is willing to go in and gamble their paycheck away, that is their problem. Same as someone willing to spend their paycheck at Ruby Tuesday's. You are being exploited there by paying $18 for a steak and potato that you could buy yourself for $8. You are getting a tangible item at the restaurant, and you are getting entertainment at the casino. No different than going and spending $80 to sit through a two hour concert. Actually, there is a difference, you can spend two hours in a casino and it can cost you nothing or you can make money.
$8 steak? where? I looked at steaks a couple days ago that were running much more than that. I agree that times are tough but that doesn't mean college grads shouldn't aspire to jobs in the fields they love and have prepared for.

The Governor should declare a Casino Corridor...clearly a growing industry for Ohio; which will provide skills for future advancement in loan sharking, bingo, and other technology based businesses.

If you re-read my post you will see that I said if a job in the students field is not available, then it might make sense to take a job where he can make a decent living. I'm not saying the kids should come out of school and head straight to the casino.

The right-wingers would call food safety laws "social engineering."
