Mum of 7 invents Wiimote TV screen protector

“I decided to design a screen protector to protect everyone's LCD or Plasma Screen from the ravages of young children and flying Nintendo Wii remotes.”

Following a damaging collision between a Nintendo Wii remote and a 42-inch LCD television, mother of seven, Emma Sands has developed a screen to protect TVs from Wii damage. via Pocket-lint.co.uk

Hi Yes I bought one. It works really well - keeps my youngest daughter away from the TV screen really well. Also saves me from having to clean the TV all the time - also stops my husband from having a near heart attack every time my daughter goes near his precious TV!!!

Yes should be integrated as standard - but at the moment isn't. My two year old threw a cup at our plasma (only 2 days old) and smashed it. Wish I had bought a screen protector when I bought the plasma. Not a waste of money if you have young children! Are they in the shops anywhere?

I have ordered one from http://www.cheetahsp.com/ and it is pretty good. My 6-year old just trashed our new Flat panel TV, So there was no way around it, I had to get one. If you have kids it is a must.

Hi

I am interested in buying a screen protector as I am always trying to keep my young son away from our plasma screen. At the moment I use an old fashioned wooden folding clothes hanger! Looked at the one from the cheetah company but it doesn;t seem to be attached to the tv so could be easily pulled off by my son. Anyone know of somewhere else?

My son drinks out of his cup - y r u still on a bottle? As for using a play pen haven't there been occasions when you've been let out and gone and done something stupid? Now then $50 to protect a plasma worth $2000 hmmmm - think you'd better go back to your playpen.

am i still on a bottle? go back to my playpen? you crack me up. i'm just going to inform you, that i don't get corrected by teachers i correct them. so when you are going to say that i'm rotton or gues what grade i'm in. so i say go ahead say i'm in kindergarden. that was 7 years ago. so waste your money on something that can be prevented. not that i'm disencouraging the screen protecter, it's just that these accidents can be blocked.

Glad you've got a sense of humour! Where would we be in life without one?

What would you suggest to stop children getting to my plasma?

Despite all comments about using a belt(??!!)I decided to order a screen protector. Not many on the market.
Got one from http://www.thescreenprotector.com . Really pleased with it. It was easy to attach to my plasma, it stays fixed, and keeps my children away from the screen.
Also don't have to use those expensive cleaning solutions now because I just clean the screen protector with window cleaner so it is actually saving me money as well!

ummmm yeah, are you dumb? Do you have kids? Ever spill anything? Anyone owning a big screen (or wide) and has kids or is just a accident prone slob should def get one, when we got our first big screen way back when we ordered it custom and it SAVED the TV screen. My mom on the other hand (got her big screen around the same time as us) did NOT get the screen protector and her TV screen was RUINED within two years. 3k down the drain. So, this RETARD is proud to protect her TV screen thank you very much.
I hear that alot of the new TVs have the screen protectors built in now so I guess the electronic industry is pretty retarded too.:o)

I can tell you right now, that for what every reason your mom has broken the tv, she is retarded. I happened to keep a 30inch safe and Ive had it for more than 10 years. I have all my chromosomes. Your mom had a plasma for about two years and couldent find a way to keep it from not being destroyed. Besides, I wonder if it ever occoured to anyone that if the ARE accident prone, and the DO have kids, why would you have a big-ass 3k target just sitting their with all the destuctiveness going around. Maybe I should go by a Lamborgini, put it in the middle of a constuction site, and buy a Lambo protector so it wont get damaged.
