Won't be long and they will want to do this to your children when they get their vaccines.

My dogs have microchips - seems a reasonable thing to do if you care about your animals. Does seem a bit of a stretch to require it to be done though. Isn't Springdale the city that limits the number of pets you can have? Seems like an animal unfriendly place.

All four of my pets are microchipped and I live in Springdale. They've never gotten out, but it does give me piece of mind to know that if they do the shelter will be able to identify them as mine. This is not a tracking device, people. They won't go around microchipping our children next. Children can talk and tell you where they live and who their parents are, pets cannot.

I'll tell you who it helps, it helps the city. With the tag (chip) in someones pet they know who to fine when the dog is caught out running free...

Microchips Linked to Cancer in Animals
Study Raises Questions About Risks to Humans Who Have Had the Chips Implanted

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/OnCall/story...

Do implanted microchips cause cancer in dogs and cats?

That's the question owners are asking after highly aggressive tumors developed around the microchip implants of two dogs, killing one and leaving the other terminally ill.

The owners – and pathology and autopsy reports – suggest a link between the chips and formation of fast-growing cancers.
