'Amazing' driverless car hits the road

Gov. Brian Sandoval got behind the wheel of a Toyota Prius on Wednesday - and left the driving to a computer for a test drive through the capital and a scenic valley.

I can see the use for this on highways to avoid congestion.

It's bad enough that drivers can't parallel their own cars that they had to make a car that does it for them...

Nevada lawmakers approved a bill this year allowing the cars on Nevada roadways. Another bill exempts operators of robotic vehicles from a texting-while-driving ban that takes effect Jan. 1.

Man's brain and common sense behind the wheel killed over 33,000 people in 2009. I'll bet computer controlled vehicles could lower that figure considerably.
