Jeez, Junior. Do you have any idea what the odds of a woman giving birth to 10 children is under primitive medical conditions? Not so good. Surviving 120? Practically nil.<quoted text>
It's called sex and producing farm helpers. Mom who lives 120 yearsish has a baby every yearish while the 1st baby grows to be 11-14ish and has babies and on and on. It ain't long and that farm is crawling with babies and adults.
Plus the survival rate of children under such conditions are pretty poor.
Throughout most of history, despite all the offspring, humans barely managed to grow the population. In other words, the average number of surviving children would have only been slightly more than 2.
I have to disagree with you on both of these. For one, the tower was not a little two story job. If it was, God would have leveled a great number of buildings. And you have no clue how big the tower was. Only that it represented something that they WERE going to try.
As for "try"...Genesis 11:5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children built.
So they either were building it, or had built it...according to your inerrant Bible.
Sorry, but a couple of men are not going to build any sort of large, substantial tower. Thus your claim
"It would take a LOT of people to build such a structure. After all, look at the Egytians' efforts on the pyramids. My question....
Where did all the people come from?"
is nothing more than deliberate attempt to paint a false invented picture and scenario that fits your contemptuous agenda rather than reality of what was said.
Strikes me that you are just making rationalizations after having your nose pushed into the practical problems of the myth. Which is all it is, an allegorical story about pride...just another way of saying "pride cometh before the fall". A little fictional morality play.
