My mom accidentally washed my Ipod touch earlier. It's a first generation and has been kept in excellent condition, until now. The screen is a bit cracked now but I put it in rice in hopes of draining the water. Any advice?

Same thing happened to me! fill a container with silica pellets( like the packets) or rice and leave it for 3 weeks to a month and then plug it in and test the sound with head phones if the sound does not work leave it even longer.
Hope that answers your question!
well dont think that will work for me you see my ipod went through the wash a day ago and the screen is cracked but it still has all the memory on it and every time i try to turn the screen on it would either instantly shut off or come on in a VERY VERY dim light and i am not able to do any thing on it... but it is just the upper screen that is cracked not the lower (the one with the pixels and all that stuff) how ever i have no i dea if it still works cause when i press the screen or home button it just turns a Dim type of light black... however i know that its on cause it is giving off light...... OK so sorry bout that what i ment to comment was the rice or sound thing wouldnt work cause i have all my sounds and stuff muted for when i goto school

My iPod went through the washing machine, and it was soaked and wouldn't turn on. My friend told me to dry it in the microwave. I put it in for 5 seconds on 850W, it's a bit dryer but there's a bit of smoke coming from it and it still won't turn on. Any suggestions ?
"brick" , u must be as dumb as a brick because you NEVER put metal in a microrwave and that pretty much ruined your ipod forever. And theres absolutely no way you can fix it. But it in a bowl of rice fir a week, but dont stick it in a microwave.

Put my daughters ipod through the machine in her shorts pocket. Have left in a very warm place for a couple of days, a couple of days in a bowl of rice. The back light does't work and it doesn't seem to charge. If it's left on the dock, all the data is there and it plays music fine. It just won't charge and the backlight won't light. Will this come back eventually?

omg my sweater went into the wash this morning and My ipod was in there. Its a touch 3rd gen. omg i have been searching though google. i found many solutions but im starting with rice. put it in a bag or bowl of rice for a few days. it is the evening and i just put my ipod in. is it too late? my dad is mad... Also you guys can try what i will do in a few days, hairdryer, the sit it upright in a warm place so the water could drip out. then hairdry and rice or whatever. I hope my ipod makes it. ive had it for 2 years now. exactly. Good luck guys! I truly wish for all of our ipods to work agian!!!

My ipod went through the washing machine and I got scared because it's a pretty expensive ipod... I was being stupid and plugged it into the computer... It responds on the computer, itunes can read it, and it turns on, but the screen stays blank... Any hope?:(
