My iPod wouldn't turn on and wouldn't charge, but when I plugged it in and held the center+menu button for about 30 seconds it started working again.

So try that before you pay for a new battery or a new iPod.

my ipod will not turn on! the battery went dead, so i plugged it up to my computer to charge it, and NOTHING is coming up! please help :)
this worked for me...all you need to do is switch the ipod to hold then switch it back. Now hold BOTH the center button and the menu button at the same time. My I-Pod, after going blank showed the apple screen. Wait a few seconds then your ipod should be back to normal.

So I had a 30gb Ipod from 2005(not sure which generation that is) and it would not turn on, charge, or communicate with my computer. In a state of fear, I logged on to this web site and heard talk of pressing CENTER BUTTON and MENU at the same time, and holding for 30 seconds. I did it, and 30 seconds later, I saw that wonderful apple logo, followed by the home menu screen and the oh-so-beautiful return of all my music, podcasts, and pictures. I'll never take my baby forgranted again...

Help!
Ipod won't turn off!
you have to hold the middle pad and menu pad until it turns off.generally until the green apple appears.. that fixes your ipod when it has prozen.. it also fixes ur ipod when it won't turn on..
for the comment on help my ipod won't turn on/charge... you DONT need a new battery waste of money you just need to do a simple reset.. again press the middle round button and menu button simultaneously and hold until the apple shows on ur screen.. it works for both.. my ipod is old and hence had all these problems hehe

ok so I was listening to my ipod and i went out for a bit, when i came home not even 2 hours later my ipod wouldn't turn on. I had my ipod for a lil while and this is the second time maybe even third time this as happened but i don't know why because my battery is good. I spent $400 on this ipod and for what, NOT WORTH IT, my boyfriend had his mp3 player for years and has yet to have a problem and it plays the radio too!!! APPLE SUCKS.

Mine did the same thing
I have a 4g 2nd gen nano
I was listening to it last night it had almost full battery. I shut it off and when I went to turn it on it wouldn't come on. Now I've had it for almost two years so I thought just maybe the battery was just lower life than it used to be so I plugged it in and nothing happened.

Hey 1. is it jailbroken. that has been a proven cause.
2. It isnt your battery
3. Restore your iPod do this by putting your iPod into dfu mode.(ex. touch hold power and other button for 10 secounds(or untill noise) then let go of power and countinue holding other button for 8 sec (or until noise)
Your computer should recoginze your iPod now.

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Capricorn

You're in a very generous and kind frame of mind today, and you'll go out of your way to help others if you think they need it. You might donate some money to a good cause or decide that charity begins at home. If you're buying gifts for some of your loved ones it will be difficult to know when to stop, because you could easily get carried away.
