When I try to synch my iPod Nano first I get this message:

"can't be updated, required file is in use"

Then I get:

"Podcast can't be u pdated because all the podcasts selected for syncing no longer exist."

And once I got something about it not being able to find a file called "Thumbs."

I don't know what file is in use or how to make it available to me. And the two podcasts to which I subscribe update daily so I know they exist. Also, "thumbs" is not a file name I've ever seen before.

Any help that anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated

I'm using an iMac and running OS X (10.3.9)

Itunes won't let me syncronise any songs to my ipod nano 2nd generation. I do what is supposed to be done to sync songs, it'll look as if Itunes is syncronising the songs to the nano. I check on my nano and no songs are on it. I'm running Windows XP 2000. Anyone having the same problems or anyone could help me solve this, please email me @ mutzrein@hotmail.com

If you are having problem browsing your songs on your Ipod Nano, just fill the album field on every song. The album field can't be empty. It's that stupid.

CAN ANYONE HELP?!?!?
My 2nd Gen 8gb Nano has a browse problem. If an artist has songs with an album listed, clicking on that artist will bring me right into that album's folder of songs without being able to choose the "all" option first. For artists without an album listed it works fine. Why does the Nano skip the album screen and skip straight into the album's folder if there's an album listed?

you COULD select the open folder to view files option and then drag and drop your music files in that way..you dont need a media player to do it for you einstein..

my problem was when my ipod got plugged in it wouldnt connect to itunes it would just charge..

my solution was: try unhooking the cord from the computer and plugging it into another port.. it worked for me!

and for people who's ipods wont sync anything to their ipod.. ive also had the same problem its generally because the file your trying to put on is "bad" just redownload or right click the file and convert the file to an mp3.. it generally works. OR you can delete the song your trying to sync out of itunes.. then plug your ipod in, and if it shows up then add the song when its syncing and then sync it again.. it worked for me, it might work for you.

When i plug in my ipod it charges, and lets me put songs on but it says that an "unknown error" has occured and that it cant synch. Then wen i take it out the songs dont show up on my ipod. I tried dragging it to the file without going through a music player but that doesnt work either!. It deleted all my songs as well. Please help!

did you have your problem fix yet? if not, you can try this. Connect your ipod to your computer, when it say "charing" do this: press and hold "menu" button and the center of the circle till it turn off the screen (reseting ipod). Then wait for it to light back on. Hope that will fix
