EH reader Doug asks: I have a question about 3D TV audio components, is it necessary to purchase a new audio component to watch and hear 3D DVDs? I currently have a Kenwood 5.1 Dolby THX component with Bose surround speakers, Mitsubishi DLP 3D capable TV and a Panasonic 3D Blu-ray disc player.

You have to use Hdmi cable. If you use an optical or coaxial, you Will only get ordinary 5.1 Dolby digital Sound.
Remember to let the settings in the audio mode for the Panasonic player be ' bitstream' and heat the original soundtrack otherwise you still get 5.1 and not 5.1 HD Sound
