DVR is great. I can watch a Formula One race in Singapore, China, Malaysia or Korea without having to be up at 1am local time. Fast-forwarding through commercials gets me back to the race quickly. DVR makes watching what I want to watch when I have time to watch very convenient. As for the shows mentioned in the article I have never watched any of them even once and could not care less about them.
