Bishop calls for ‘heroic Catholicism,’ rips Obama’s ‘radical pro-abortion agenda’
April 17, 2012
From Our Store: Misinterpreting Catholicism (eBook)
Bishop Daniel Jenky of Peoria told the 500 men who attended the diocese’s annual men’s march and Mass that “the days in which we live now require heroic Catholicism, not casual Catholicism.”
“We can no longer be Catholics by accident, but instead [must] be Catholics by conviction. In our own families, in our parishes, where we live and where we work--like that very first apostolic generation--we must be bold witnesses to the Lordship of Jesus Christ,” he preached.“We must be a fearless army of Catholic men, ready to give everything we have for the Lord, who gave everything for our salvation.”
Noting that “the world, the flesh, and the devil will always love their own, and will always hate us,” Bishop Jenky preached:
The Church survived and even flourished during centuries of terrible persecution, during the days of the Roman Empire. The Church survived barbarian invasions. The Church survived wave after wave of Jihads. The Church survived the age of revolution. The Church survived Nazism and Communism. And in the power of the resurrection, the Church will survive the hatred of Hollywood, the malice of the media, and the mendacious wickedness of the abortion industry. The Church will survive the entrenched corruption and sheer incompetence of our Illinois state government, and even the calculated disdain of the President of the United States, his appointed bureaucrats in HHS, and of the current majority of the federal Senate.
May God have mercy on the souls of those politicians who pretend to be Catholic in church, but in their public lives, rather like Judas Iscariot, betray Jesus Christ by how they vote and how they willingly cooperate with intrinsic evil.
“As Christians we must love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, but as Christians we must also stand up for what we believe and always be ready to fight for the Catholic Faith.

Divine Mercy prayer for today:
"Today bring to Me the Souls of those who have separated themselves from My Church*,
and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. During My bitter Passion they tore at My Body and Heart, that is, My Church. As they return to unity with the Church My wounds heal and in this way they alleviate My Passion."
Most Merciful Jesus, Goodness Itself, You do not refuse light to those who seek it of You. Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who have separated themselves from Your Church. Draw them by Your light into the unity of the Church, and do not let them escape from the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart; but bring it about that they, too, come to glorify the generosity of Your mercy.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of those who have separated themselves from Your Son's Church, who have squandered Your blessings and misused Your graces by obstinately persisting in their errors. Do not look upon their errors, but upon the love of Your own Son and upon His bitter Passion, which He underwent for their sake, since they, too, are enclosed in His Most Compassionate Heart. Bring it about that they also may glorify Your great mercy for endless ages. Amen.

Another round of Itchy nonsense. Once again, it's mixing politics and religion, straight from the playbook of the radical right. Followed, of course, by a round of prayer.
Attack, pray, attack, pray. Great example of a Christian attitude, Itchy.

More right-wing Catholic extremism, Itchy?
#2438 Apr 22, 2012
Here is page one again, probably fell into the black hole LOL:
The Great Catholic Comeback
Hello everyone and welcome to The Vortex where lies and falsehoods are trapped and
exposed. I’m Michael Voris .. coming to you from Auckland New Zealand. We’re in
New Zealand on our way to Australia .. invited to stop over here by a group of wonderful
There is no doubt about it. Authentic Catholicism is on the way back. The shell-shocked
faithful .. reeling from decades of liturgical abuse .. homosexual clergy sex abuse ..
liberal abuse and every other abuse .. are finally finding their footing and their voices.
The Traditional Latin Mass and communities advancing it are growing in number .. while
the failed liberalism of the past 50 years is fading.
Seminarians are vibrant .. orthodox and eager for battle.
The young in the Church are traditional .. committed .. and orthodox beyond compare.
There is in the Church a new and energized Catholic Counter-Reformation .. only this
time .. it’s not battling Protestantism outside the Church as in the 6th century .. but
Protestants disguised as Catholics INSIDE the Church.
There is a growing force largely among the laity .. but even now beginning to reach up in
to the ranks of priests and the even the episcopate that has been persecuted enough by
liberal progressive theological dissidents in authority positions in the Church and these
young turks are on the march.
They are meeting up with each other on the internet .. collecting together mainly in Latin
Mass communities ..exchanging notes and stories .. being confirmed and supported by
one another and realizing what they always knew down deep .. they aren’t crazy .. despite
being told so over and over by whack priests and feminist nuns.
The Faith they have held onto .. sometime by a thread IS the authentic faith .. despite how
much some liberal catholic university professor has mocking denigrated it.
The future is with the Truth .. the authentic Faith and its adherents. This is why there is so
much resistance to the Traditional Latin Mass in the old liberal circles .. because the old
aging and tired heretics realize that the with the Latin Mass also comes the authentic
theology behind it.
They don’t want to hear the Church’s teachings on Hell and sexual impurity. They don’t
want to hear about the supremacy of the Catholic religion over all others. The One True
Faith is the last thing these liberal wolves want talked about.
They have spent the last 40+ years trying to kill and squelch and choke of all that truth ..
and for a long while .. it looked like they were going to succeed. They were drunk with glee.
And then a funny thing happened. As the party was roaring away .. and the eulogy was
being delivered over the body of Holy Mother Church .. She suddenly sprang to life ..
again as She has so many other times in her glorious and Sacred 2000 year old history.
The modernists in the Church had sought to marry her to the world and as the world
changed .. had hoped to change the Church as well. They fought desperately .. poured
every ounce of energy into Her disemboweling that they could.
They have mustered every ounce of energy they can to eviscerate Her and Her truth.
They have trotted out every new and novel invention their minds could conjure up.
They have tried the gospel of social justice .. liberation theology .. an un paralleled string
of abuses at Mass .. denial after denial and excuse after excuse for authentic Catholic
teaching .. ecumenism run amok .. smearing of faithful Catholics .. disregard for Our
Blessed Lord in the Eucharist .. both in teaching and manner of reception.

Another round of Catholic extremism. The lunatic fringe of the faith are trying to take over. No wonder so many reasonable and rational Catholics are leaving the church.
#2442 Apr 25, 2012
Today bring to Me the Meek and Humble Souls and the Souls of Little Children,
and immerse them in My mercy. These souls most closely resemble My Heart. They strengthened Me during My bitter agony. I saw them as earthly Angels, who will keep vigil at My altars. I pour out upon them whole torrents of grace. I favor humble souls with My confidence.
Most Merciful Jesus, You yourself have said, "Learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart." Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart all meek and humble souls and the souls of little children. These souls send all heaven into ecstasy and they are the heavenly Father's favorites. They are a sweet-smelling bouquet before the throne of God; God Himself takes delight in their fragrance. These souls have a permanent abode in Your Most Compassionate Heart, O Jesus, and they unceasingly sing out a hymn of love and mercy.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon meek souls, upon humble souls, and upon little children who are enfolded in the abode which is the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls bear the closest resemblance to Your Son. Their fragrance rises from the earth and reaches Your very throne. Father of mercy and of all goodness, I beg You by the love You bear these souls and by the delight You take in them: Bless the whole world, that all souls together may sing out the praises of Your mercy for endless ages. Amen.

The damage done by Vatican II:
"Itchy Watch claims that Good catholics are driving the rest out of the church. The facts are:
"Certainly the results (of Vatican II) seem cruelly opposed to the expectations of everyone, beginning with those of Pope John XXIII and then of Pope Paul VI: expected was a new Catholic unity and instead we have been exposed to dissension which, to use the words of Pope Paul VI, seems to have gone from self-criticism to self-destruction. Expected was a new enthusiasm, and many wound up discouraged and bored. Expected was a great step forward, instead we find ourselves faced with a progressive process of decadence which has developed for the most part under the sign of a calling back to the Council, and has therefore contributed to discrediting it for many. The net result therefore seems negative. I am repeating here what I said ten years after the conclusion of the work: it is incontrovertible that this period has definitely been unfavorable for the Catholic Church."
— Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, 1984.(Present Pope Benedict XVI)
"Priests: After skyrocketing from about 27,000 in 1930 to 58,000 in 1965, the number of priests in the United States thereafter dropped to 45,000 in 2002. By 2020, there will be about 31,000 priests — and only 15,000 will be under the age of 70. Right now there are more priests age 80 to 84 than there are age 30 to 34."
"Ordinations: In 1965 there were 1,575 American ordinations to the priesthood, in 2002 there were 450, a decline of 350 percent. Taking into account ordinations, deaths and departures, in 1965 there was a net gain of 725 priests. In 1998, there was a net loss of 810."
"Priest-less parishes: About 3 percent of U.S. parishes, or 549, were without a resident priest in 1965. In 2002 there were 2,928 priest-less parishes, about 15 percent of U.S. parishes. By 2020, a quarter of all parishes, 4,656, will have no priest."
"Seminaries: Between 1965 and 2002, the number of seminarians dropped from 49,000 to 4,700 — a 90 percent decrease. Without any students, seminaries across the country have been sold or shuttered. There were 596 seminaries in 1965, and only 200 in 2002. There were over three times as many total seminarians in 1930 as in 2002. There were over seven times as many religious order seminarians in 1945 as in 2002. There were over three times as many diocesan seminarians in 1945 as in 2002. There were more seminaries in 1955 than in 2002. Between 1965 and 2002, the number of U.S. diocesan seminaries decreased by 33 percent. In that same thirty seven year period, the number of U.S. religious seminaries decreased by 75 percent."
"Religious Orders: The religious orders will soon be virtually nonexistent in the United States. For example, in 1965 there were 5,277 Jesuit priests and 3,559 seminarians; in 2000 there were 3,172 priests and 389 seminarians."
"Parochial Grade Schools: There were 10,503 parochial grade schools in 1965 and 6,623 in 2002. The number of students plummeted from 4.5 million to 1.9 million."
"Mass attendance: A 1958 Gallup poll reported that 74 percent of Catholics went to Sunday Mass in 1958. A 1994 University of Notre Dame study found that the attendance rate was 26.6 percent. A more recent study by Fordham University professor James Lothian concluded that 65 percent of Catholics went to Sunday Mass in 1965, while the rate dropped to 25 percent in 2000."
Jones points out that "Mass attendance of U.S. Catholics fell precipitously in the decade following the liturgical changes and has continued to decline ever since."

Let's see, Itchy: you find some statistics from an anti-Vatican II extremists and suddenly you think you're a genius. Anyone can manipulate statistics to fit their positions.
And despite the best efforts of the radical right in the church, people are leaving the faith in increasing numbers. Much like they did from OLL under the old pastor.
#2453 Apr 27, 2012
Much lying by you, my information is all factual. Site your sources as I did. Also the OLLMP Parish was thriving under the previous administration.
You malign others from typing mistakes. Check your post, pasto.r???
Praying for your blinded soul."There are none so blind as those that will not accept what they see"
#2454 Apr 27, 2012
Actually, Itchy, I chastise others for their lack of spelling and grammar skills, not their typing. So let's see how well you did: it's "cite", not "site". And "You malign other from typing mistakes" makes absolutely no grammatical sense at all. People who live in glass houses shouldn't be throwing stones, Itchy.
As far as the parish "thriving" under the previous administration, I doubt you know the real meaning of the word. Then again, you have shown a remarkable inability to comprehend the English language.
And finally, Itchy, in your rush to judge, please note that I had fixed the typo in the post on this thread. I imagine that your joy in thinking you had found a mistake in my post on this thread "blinded" you to the truth.

Hitting the "ignore" button is the same as a four-year-old closing his eyes and putting his fingers in his ears so he doesn't have to deal with reality. Looks like you're regressing, Itchy. Problem is the truth is staring you in the face ... and you can't deal with it.
