Why wrote: What do the hackers want to steal from a newspaper website? Shouldn't they hack govt systems instead of wasting their time with a private firm if these activities are supported by the Chinese govt? Well, as seen even in China, any blog or website voicing information on the hidden wealth of the CCP leadership, is immediately completely shut down by censors. But when the story is outside china they send hackers to cause expensive damage or like in this case get the addresses of the people who leaked the story, sort of like a warning to free press that CCP corruption is off limits even to them. And yes they have hit military instalations in the past, thaats how the government knows it the same hackers, something about it carrying the same signature. Feel bad for whoever leaked this information because his ass is fried with butter. Hope I clearified this for you. No need to thank me

Why does someone bother to try to destroy the info. this way knowing that all such information has been backup at different levels and different time and stored off-site. You explanations show that you are pretty dumb. I hope Americans and the Chinese commies are smarter than that.

They wanted to find out who had provided it so they could go murder them. The number one security threat to the CCP is the Chinese public finding out how much party members pay themselves.

I clearly said in my last post that "...OR LIKE IN THIS CASE GOT THE ADDRESSES AND INFORMATION OF THE PEOPLE WHO LEAKED THE STORY IN THE FIRST PLACE." Boy if all Chinese people and the CCP have as much trouble with reading as you do, it is a wonder how they could have pulled this attack off.

It is not about the information they destory but the usable hunks of machines they leave behind in case and the information they take. In this case nothing was destoryed only taken. Having to call in an IT guy to fix a problem on one computer costs money and during that time employees are just standing around doing nothing which they get paid for. Many businesses run a very thin mergin of profit and can not afford these types of things young man. It has been my pleasure to have made the 21st century clearer to you having explained a little about commence and cyber attacks from the world of the grown ups. Tell your mommy that will be 200euros please.

nytimes own integrity is in question. how did they investigate wen's "hidden wealth"? Possibilities: 1. Wen's confession. 2. NYT journalists enjoy media freedom in china. 3. spy network 4. hacking into confidential files 5. pure fabrication the pot calling the kettle black.

Why would someone keep the information about the informants together with the data in the system? Would a FBI, CIA or RCMP do it, knowing that it will lead to dire consequences if the secret leaks? Calling you dumb is a bit too harsh and it hurts. So I shall shut up.

That is the only environment the CCP could possibly survive in, of course. Thanks for pointing out just how backwards and traitorous this sad, corrupt, dying Chinese Communist Party dictatorship is.

Likewise this supposing hacking crap; fake, lies and propaganda. But why is it CENSORED in CCP China then, and why such efforts to find the SOURCES? You yourself know it is all true, but want to keep your own place at the "CCP trough", eh?

Read a book someday, okay?

I see your tiny, stunted CCP-issue brain is so fogged by totalitarian arrogance you can't even see what is the likeliest possibility: People inside China, privy to the facts, who hate how the CCP is looting China and know that going to any news outlet in China will be useless. Dumb CCP spin-doctors often make such errors, so don't take it "personally"!
