Hey all, I recently purchased a Samsung SGH-C417 mobile phone and everything is going great with it, except for the fact that I can't seem to find or connect to any other bluetooth cell phones or devices. Every time I search for headsets it returns the message of "No Bluetooth Device Found, Try Again? Yes/No". I can't find my friends cell phones which have bluetooth running even though they can see one another and I can't find my Bluetooth USB Adapter PC tool either, so I can't upload/download pictures and such from my computer. I've searched everywhere to find an answer but I can't seem to find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Later.

We just purchased four of these phones yesterday. Will probably end up returning them because of the limited Bluetooth functionality.
It only supports the "headphone" profile.
You cannot transfer data (photos) to/from the phone and your computer with Bluetooth.
Also, a data cable does not appear to be an option (not available for this phone on the Samsung Web site). Therefore the only way to transfer photos off of the phone is by emailing from the camera (at a cost of 25 cents each). It appears that they (Cingular / Samsung) have intentionally limited the file transfer functionality so you must use the network to get your photos. Other phones allow file transfers at this price point...don't buy this phone if you take a lot of photos. This is a major disappointment and ripoff!

I asked about a data cable before purchasing (The San Mateo Cingular shop) and Jose (the sales rep.) said he didnt have any but I could buy one elsewhere. So I bought this model in good faith that a data cable was out there.
I'm not just disappointed but a bit angry too. This Jose kept trying to sell me on various plans for my internet at home- I'll be heading back to return everything I purchased today. The phone and the accessories kit.
ARGH!

I also just purchased this phone and my bluetooth also does not connect to any device. I wonder if its a glitch with the phones since every one has the same problem?? But who would you contact for more information on it??

The phone has been crippled intentionally. You cannot transfer files with the USB data cable either.

Are you serious? I tried doing that and that doesn't work.

Uhm I think she is talking about pairing her headset with the phone which works great. But according to the Samsung site there is no usb connector it's a serial cable. I don't have a serial connector on the laptop. The phone is a serious fiasco. It's being returned!!!!

The only way you can get ringotones on it is to purchase them through your provider it's a scam and a rip off. The more I deal with cingular the more I love SKYPE.

Here is the link to buy the USB Data cable for sale on Cingular's website. After you purchase the cable, download Samsung Studio PC from Samsung website & install it.

This didn't work for me. Please post your cable part number and software name and version number.

Thanks, Rob.

Just got one, Bluetooth is pretty much useless considering no one in my family uses it so I don't need it.
Before I try the USB cable is there any way to access computer files elsewhere?

I purchased a kit with a Samsung PCB133LBE serial cable and I was able to transfer Outlook Contacts to the phone's SIM, and transfer images to and from my phone, using PC Studio PIMS & File Manager Version 1.0 (from the Samsung site).

I purchased a PKT133LBEG/STD kit at https://www.mobileplanet.com/p.aspx... . They also sell a PCB133LBEC/STD cable at https://www.mobileplanet.com/p.aspx... .
I was not able to transfer Samsung's sample ringtones, however I could record a .wav file on XP and transfer it.
