Dose not this young man have right to wear what he want's just as much as any young woman would. I myself would rather my son be happy, and wear what he would like, than to feel ashamed of himself, because what other's think>

so wat if a guy wants to wear a skirt?!?
hes improving the system one tiny step at a time... and it wasnt like they needed the court to prosecute a rapist or they would have postponed his case, plus there are thousands of unused courts in that state...

I had to wear a Skirt to school, This took place in 1989. Why you might ask is do to some of the stupidest Rules we had in school. The day was in late March we had 80 degree plus weather and our school's here in NC were not AC'd Yet. So you have a brick building with a black roof and the heat in the school was well over 90 degree's and all the Chicks got to wear skirt's and the guy's had to wear pant's why cuuse of a stupid rule that stated shorts could only be worn until sept first, or after the first day of may. So the rest of the time that it hit the high 80's and 90's we the guy's had to suffer

I blame modern thinking, and certain Christian values for this(Not trashing the religion by the way, My best friend is a Priest) The idea of seperating church and state is a good one, however, administrators are going to try to enforce values that are widely accepted. Since a great deal of US Citizens are Christian this makes good sense in a business setting. However, it does infringe on the rights of the minority. If a boy, or man wishes to wear a skirt to school or work, it should be permitted, provided they are subject to the same rules and guidelines the women are. It is all about choice, besides, the mass majority of men aren't going to wear a skirt, and nor will they be forced to, so if it doesn't effect you directly, be quiet and let it pass.

By the way, I know a great number of Soldiers that support the same. It isn't that we support this particular cause, but what it embodies. Free will, and free choice. We bleed and die to give that right to civilians, and I personally get pissed off every time someone tries to stop something as innocent as this from happening, because they don't like the idea.

The hysterical part of all this is it started because he wasn't allowed to wear shorts.

Which would have been much less disruptive.

And *why* did he want to wear shorts?

Because of a knee injury. Yes, that's right, a health issue.

It wasn't even about being rebelious.

If he wants to wear a skirt, its his choice. No one has a right to prevent it.

THIS IS CRAZY!
A student is not at school to attract attention.
This takes away from students being able to be in an environment to learn.

THIS IS CRAZY. This takes away from the learning environment. School is not a fashion show.

I really respect this kid. He's fighting a silly policy that he wants changed, and in a way that's gotta be tough with the other kids in school.
Something like this is often indicative of a person with the right level of confidence and determination to actually make changes in the world, and I believe that there are far too few people who think in high school, let alone think on their own.
Lets have a look .... yep .... San Francisco.

Is he wearing the skirtBoxer, brief, or regimental?Cold drafty days will surely bring a change. Remember when kneeling the kilt touches the ground, and so should a skirt.Next he'll want to wear a skort. I hope he has the body for it(or is that boody?). Enjoy your school year.!!!!!

This "guy wearing skirt" story seems to come up
every time a new school year rolls around and I'm
getting to feel its just another case of someone
wanting their 15 minutes of fame and a shot on
Jerry Springer. Then again, a lawsuit can pay for
4 years of college.

The question, of course, is what kind of skirt is
the guy thinking of wearing. A long, ankle length
number wouldn't be as controversial, but it would
restrict his movement as he runs for school bus
at the end of the day. A cute little mini might
raise a few eyebrows but allow him to sprint more
easily. The question, of course, is whether he
should follow suit (no pun intended) and shave his
legs. Maybe the best choice is something tasteful,
just below the knee, with knee socks.
