Heck I'm old enough to remember the day when they announced that girls could wear pants to school.. I showed up the next day in Levi's and a Hang 10 Tee shirt....so, 37 some years later if a dude wants to wear a skirt, let him. As long as he shaves his legs. LOL.

I believe guys should be able to wear skirts to school as long as they wear knee socks with them.
I would have no problems wearing a mid length or a
little shorter skirt or mid-length shorts with opaque or cable knee socks not striped athletic tube socks.

I really respect this kid. He's fighting a silly policy that he wants changed, and in a way that's gotta be tough with the other kids in school.
Something like this is often indicative of a person with the right level of confidence and determination to actually make changes in the world, and I believe that there are far too few people who think in high school, let alone think on their own.
Or he could just be a smart ass.

This reminds me of what has happened since a lot of high schools were forced to cut boys lacrosse under the section 9 law which required schools to spend half of their sports money on girls.

The law said that the schools had to let kids play on the opposite sexes team if the school didn't have a team for your sex.

But the schools try to intimidate the boys from playing on the girls lacross teams by requiring them to wear skirts like the girls wear.

(And schools simmilarly try to intimidate girls from joining the boys' baseball and football teams by requiring them to wear cups).

For the most part this intimidation works. But there are sometimes a few brave boys who won't back down and play anyway even if it means donning a skirt.

I'm happy for the guy, I mean why should only females be allowed to wears skirts?

How come females can wear pants and skirts, and males can only wear pants??

There was a time when all males wore skirts, it was normal, skirt wearing has only become feminized in recent history....skirts are just a more practical garment...and I think everyone should be able to enjoy them...

You're right Semper Fi. In that situation the schools sing a rules-are-rules tune, but they're really trying to stop these kids from exercising their right to be on the team. It's a complete violation of the spirit of the law (which is actually called Title IX).

If I had sons who wanted to play lacrosse at a school that only had a girls team I'd tell them to wear the skirt and pretend that they were the guys from "Braveheart." And if the other boys in school made fun of them for it, i'd tell them to tell them that they're just jealous because they don't get to shower with all the girls after the game! lol

But this kid had the opposite problem of our would be lacrosse players. He WANTED to wear a skirt. And he SHOULD be allowed to. Why should anyone else get to dictate what he wears?

Fucking Fags!
Wearing skirts has nothing to do with homosexuality or gay marriage. Gender identity is separate from sexual orientation.
