DSG Ireland posts jump in sales

I'm not surprised that DSG has profitted hugely in Ireland. PC World is an absolute disaster to shop in. Sales Assistants are virtually clueless and managers aren't any better. I went shopping for a printer that would print specifically on vinyl adhesives. Staff recommendation: HP laserjet 1600 @ almost 300. 3 months later vinyl has melted onto output roller. Will PC World repair or offer assistance? NO!! They tell me to contact HP, which of course I do. Can HP fix the problem, No!! As I was using wrong type of media, vinyl is not compatible with laserjet due to high heat it is no longer under warranty. Back to PC World and so on. Eventually I gave up, I set out to buy new printer. Foolishly went to PC World, you'd think I'd learned my lesson 1st time... Spoke to sales assistant, again pointed towards laserjet. I decided to speak to someone of higher standing and spoke to the manager. He recommended the laserjet... What's wrong with these people?? I tried to stay composed as I pointed out that I've already bought one of these from this very store, it's broken and there's no come-back. He did what PC World seem to do every time a problem arises, blamed someone else. In this case HP. He said that as HP train the staff in printer specifications they are the ones giving out false information. I would like to state, I'll never shop at any of the DSG stores again. If you're not being tormented to the point of exhaustion to purchase insurance on items, which is useless if the problem was supposedly self-inflicted, you're being mis-informed and basically robbed blind with products that aren't what they say they are. Why is good service so hard to find??

I have purchased My Laptop, printers, TV and SatNav all from PC World in Ireland, and on the occasions I returned to the store with queries or support to set up wireless printer and data transfer I found them to be very friendly and helpfull and will continue to purchase good from them, I also have recomeded them to friends who have also had similar experiences to myself. On your point I would have had it researched myself on the internet before I went looking for a product to do a specific job. I have no problem recomending them to anypne in the future.
