"Uncle" Don and "Aunt" Arlene were actually cousins of my father's, and very close to my heart. I didn't know Brian as well, but I know plenty of people who are desperately missing him. I can't say that I feel any sort of hate for the man who caused their death...nor do I wish him ill... they wouldn't have wanted that. Genuinely good people are few and far between, but they were always good to me, and they are sorely missed by all of us, friends and family alike.

I have known Don and Arlene since I can remember. My mom was best friends with Arlene and I adored them like my own family. We had many good times at their house in NY. They were farmers and I just loved going there. I have so many fond memories of them. Brian was a very dear friend for many years to me. We did everything together.....horseback riding, snowmobiling, nature hunts, picnics, and I even helped brian with his chores. He was a wonderfuly friend. The kind where you could tell him anything and he never told anybody. He told me many secrets to and I never told anyone. It was just between me and him. We of course grew up and went our seperate ways, but now and again we would see Don and Arlene. I can always remember them with the warmest hugs and smiles. You well forever be in my heart and be missed. I love you guys. I know " Arlene" you finally heard a bird chirp. That was always your biggest dream, as she could not hear, but was so fascinated with birds..there beauty. I think my tears are for your hapiness of finally hearing your birds.
She had many talents..sewing, playing the piano.
Love abd hugs to the other three boys.....I know how hard it is
May God be with you

The small community of Mecklenburg is still stunned by the deaths of our friends. We were lucky to see Don and Arlene last year and miss them so much. Arlene made the raffle quilt for our church bazaar for many years. I read a letter she had written to my Mother the Monday before they were killed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Fisher and Wellman families.
