I am glad to see that these churches prioritize attendance over attire. A man will not be born again if he doesnt hear the word. That is the most important thing, nomatter what the attire.
his has always been my rule of thumb.I was brought up to believe that you were to wear your best to Gods hoouse out of respect to him. If your best is a suit & tie, then you wear that. If it is shorts and a t-shirt, then you wear that. As long as you are hearing the true word of God.

God would be very disappointed in this. All you supposed Christians making up your new rules. The bible is clear where G0od stands on such behavior. You will ALL burn in hell!

I'm torn on this issue. Of course, Jesus didn't wear a business suit or dockers, but he probably did wear sandals. Yet when I see cutoffs, t-shirts, and flip flops in Church, I cringe. To me it looks too casual and disrespectful. Not poor or ignorant, just disrespectful. I agree wholeheartedly with Rev Fisler in this matter. I'm sure that the Lord and religious leaders of every faith wore their best when worshipping, regardless of their circumstances or time in history.

Stop and think for one minute. Back in Jesus time when he was here with his diciples, they didn't have suits. They did wear robes and sandals. Look at his diciples, they were fishermen. Fishermen do not wear suits.
Jesus looks at the inward man. Pray and ask God what you should wear to church. If you only have a limited wardrobe then wear what you have.

Scoop, the word of God, according to your Bible, differs from your belief posted above (see CRP's post). How do you reconcile this? Should you burn in Hell eternally for your refusal to wear the clothes that God has picked out for you, or will a sacrifice be enough to assuage God?

Organized religion is all just one tremendous inspired hoax.

It's all built upon pomp and cirmcumstance, invented tradition and false ceremony. It is one giant "production" and the whole "show" is meant to inspire fear and a sense of submission in the follower.

If you people wanna keep your magic show going, you better damn sure people are scared enough of the fires of hell not to wear flip flops to meetin'.

I was brought up to dress in my Sunday clothes, which very often was the same as my school clothes. Now that I am an adult and can better understand God's love I have come to this conclusion. God is interested in our hearts, not our outer appearance. If our hearts are right with God, the rest will follow.
Don't look to me and what I do or wear to find the epitomy of Christianity. I will fail you. Look to Christ instead. He is the only perfect creation.

Christians dress up for church to impress other Christians, Not God. Does God care what the wrapper is? Only the contents of the package. The greatest gift you can give God is a clean heart and soul.

CRP, you are in for a rude awakening. Tattooed, Pierced,... etc. they deserve the opportunity for salvation, too. Don't reject them, Jesus wouldn't!! Remember the "woman at the well"! Besides, they may be better Christians, then some of us church goers who are actually hypocrites.

I have found in general, that people who are on the lower economic scale, less educated, less open to new ideas, and less likely to travel, are more inclined to be 'hard core' Christians. This generally, is a condition, accociated with a gene puddle. Algae has a greater potential to get to heaven than most bible thumpers around here. Have a nice day.

I find it interesting that all of the Biblical scriptures mentioned in this thread directly releate to Israel in the Old Testament. While the Old Testament is very important, it is also important to note that the scriptures being quoted are part of the old Levitic law that was removed when the Ultimate Sacrifice came and saved the souls of every human ever born. I truly believe that God cares about your faith (even that of a mustard seed) and not what you wear. Always remember that Ephesians 2:8-9 states "For by grace are you saved through faith, it is the gift of God, not of good works, lest any man should boast."

And for CRP you should also note Galations 6:7 which states: "Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For whatsoever a man soweth [in this case misinformation] that shall he also reap."

CRP...Everything you said comes from the Old Testament. Christ fullfilled the Old Testament and The Law; so your references apply to the people of the Old Testament, not today.
