Steroids probe not confined to county

Massachusetts State Police have not completed an internal affairs investigation of a trooper implicated in a federal probe into the distribution and sale of illegal steroids.

"No other officers are expected to be charged, the sources said." Was Kirchner charged? I read he recieved a suspension and was returned to the street. The Eagle reports that only two police officers have been tied to the probe. When reported that only two police officers are tied to the probe, is the Eagle referring to the PPD former elite drug detective Kirchner and the unnamed state trooper?

Are we seriously being expected to believe that out of all the clientele at the various gyms and fitness centers in Pittsfield and Berkshire County that there are just these two guys using illegal anabolic steroids?
The two cops mentioned so far, one with the Pittsfield Police Dept. and one with the Mass. State Police, are obviously being held up as the sacrificial lambs.

Look harder at PPD, Sheriff's Dept. and court officers.

As they should be made examples of. They are crooked cops and cops need to be held to another standard. They are suppose to uphold the law.

Note though, that those cops will likely not have to suffer too much.
They'll likely keep their jobs, protected by both the power structure and the police union.
The last thing anyone in the Pittsfield power structure (or the Mass. Executive Office of Public Safety) wants is for one of their own, faced with a real threat to his livelihood, invoking Mutually Assured Destruction: e.g.: Bring a smart cop down, the power structure risks that cop bringing others down with him -- lots of others.
